To all artist the chinese new year will fall on 19 Feb i guess we will know the answer before 19 Feb
The first wave of sets will most likely be on the 19th, and the next wave a week after, and nothing is official until its in main client/ dota 2 store. It was in part 3.
New Bloom sets and treasures will begin appearing on the Dota store late next week, with even more becoming available the following week! Be sure to check the store often to see what new creations have been added.
Does anyone upload psd's for market shots? Can valve just use the loadingscreen image?
It's annoying you can't upload multiple images at once. I've tried it via a web browser, and steam interface. Despite the description saying you can upload more then one image at once, you can't click on more then one.
You can upload more than one image at once if you use a web browser. I do it all the time in Chrome - it makes uploading sets waaaay easier. Use shift-click and control-click to select multiple items within the file dialog.

Great! Maybe it's a firefox issue for me, ...most likely user error but hey, we can blame the software first.
Once upon a November, I, Sajedene and Lyether worked on a Spectre set...
Well, it's up and you can check it out! Leave a like if you like it!
(Pardon the huge images! :poly122:)
Hey! Nice work, but Lyether probably didn't tell you that I made this loading screen. Not very nice of him considering that fact that he asked to make it really fast and I postponed all my current (for that time) projects. This is not best loading screen in the world but I want my share included because I put effort in making it. I agreed to very low percent of share (5%) because of Sajedene, but it doesn't mean that is zero. I'd like to solve in friendly way by resubmitting loading screen with me included.
I want to say thanks to everyone helping us along the way! Couldn't have gotten this far without this forum! I just published it today, votes or shares would be much appreciated!! I really want to see an item in this game that I've been playing forever!!! Thank you guys!

Hi! Vertical sent me this post and as you've already been talking with him I won't go too much into it here. Just wanted you to know we'll sort this out asap as I truly believe you need to be compensated for your work (still not sure why your percentage is determined by me though but either way we will sort this out).
crossposting from my thread since im looking for advice:
i did a paintover for our lich set- just wondering what ppls opinions are on these colors? mainly wondering about readability (pls ignore everything looks plastic atm), and whether its the right lvl of complexity. theres a lot of patterns so im cautious
also for the belt, i know this is not something that will be visible in the regular game perspective. is it ok to have these smaller details solely for additional interest in the preview screen? i figure thats another part of why people buy sets.

I think those balls on the belt are very small, rest is just fine. very nice.
Sorry for the spam but this might be the last day I get to work on this: what do you guys think about the color scheme on the left for Lich? I really like it but my only concern is that perhaps this red is not in Lich's color scheme- also purple is a royal color (and colder) which i think better suits him perhaps. original design on the right for comparison
I think the left is best:
the light blue replaces a lot of his skin color that gets covered up. So from top down view it should keep him much closer to original colors.
I think the amount of red is fine, it differs quite a bit on all existing sets, and if you do the left then most of it is hidden more from top view.
The dark purples on the right seem to pull out the red even more. (less contrast so more bledning)
Also it's looking really darn good, I don't think Valve would turn it down just because of colors, there are plenty of examples of sets that stray from the exact same pallete as the default model.
Getting close to calling this finished. Big shout out to Pipotchi for the concept and the ability to rework or clarify things that I was unsure on. This is the first time I have worked with someone else on a set so it was really helpful for me.
if you are using blender use the smd tools plugin
FBX importers on blender are garbage, the smd tools however are fucking flawless
Truth, the only problem I've ever had with the Blender SMD tools was exporting as DMX, for whatever reason it acted wonky, and at the time i didnt even know it was a setting i had selected. I've been exporting as SMD and its been hassle free.
Quick question! I've started working on a concept for Ursa. On valve's technical requirements page he's got a weapons/claw slot. I don't think it's ever been used in game though. It's a sweet extra 600/400 tris which I would like to burn on fist-weapon like claws. Is it usable?
Guys, i need help. Can somebody tell me environment variables for the user and for the system that are NEEDED for Maya(i use 2012)? I just tried to solve the problem and removed some of the variables in the hope to reset them. But it's not work:(
i have a problem. My diffuse map and the model work correctly but seem the normal map and 2 masks doesnt work . I dont see any efffect, only the color map on the model, nothing else ( no reflect, no bump...). What did i do wrong?
Hey guys! Rubus and I just finished and submitted our courier
Workshop link on the image.
Does anyone have a link to some gif creation guides? I've seen some other workshoppers submissions and they have some really nice looking gifs that aren't too large in size. If only we could use gfycat...
@penOr: it's looking better than before, although the red on his wings is really saturated and it looks kinda flat. You can load the gif file into photoshop and resize it. Or maybe this vid will help. Also you should check out this guide written by T_Vidotto. The texture on your courier really needs more polish.
Thanks for the link! I tried to create some gifs with photoshop but the filesize kept coming out quite large. I will also pass on the feedback about texture
Solid work! Animations came out great, and the sfm preview was a nice touch. Well done all around, keep on animating!
Cheers andrew! You can probably tell I used your SFM tutorial to learn how the program works =P. Not sure how much more workshop I can work on with the amount of time it takes to create and publish them though...

we can't add custom particles until source 2 is released

We just submitted a set for Medusa, a hero we feel doesn't get as much love as she should, so go check it out on the Workshop!
If anyone is interested, there are also some documentation over our thread over here!
Looks great! Love the pinks and purples and the white cloth accents.
nah i just like that colour a little too much, it seems
When I import the Valve provided .fbx files, it seems like the bones don't import properly.
I also noticed that with newest version of Blender :oo however, when I import back lo poly to blender, it goes 180 degrees in opposite direction
but yeah, it seems they actually fixed fbx import. At least there are some bones finally!

Pretty much this.
There's absolutely no reason to use .fbx when you can have such clean and flawless imports with .smd files.
