Great looking set, makes it only a bit less organic with the blue tint.. Also I think you overdid the particle effects a bit. It distracts a lot from your set.

Looks good, Andy. My suggestion: try out variant with less thicker bottom cilinder (red one). For now, you have 3 cilinder almost same size. If you'll bring some variaty to them, it will make better impression imo.

As far as I know courier must not be something reminding about the heroes. That's why almost every courier is a animal/bug or something like that, and not an antropoid like creature.
So I noticed that the modelers who stream have some base meshes in zbrush that they use. Simple things like rocks, hair, swords that they use. My question is if these are made by the artists themselves or found in a database. I wouldn't want to use someone elses work for my items.
anyone have experience working with invoker? I'm making a cape atm. and i can't get the jiggle to work. There's two sets of joints for the cape. One work but the cape is just all stiff. When i use the other ones it's just laying on the floor. Any ideas?

I have an item with 4 stars at 88 ratings. I think the minimum is 80.

I had the same problem when I worked on my contest set, the model from the website was completely different from the one out of the .smd's not sure if they fixed that yet...

I have the same problem now. Today i Started working with silencer, and textures from the website was be red, but silencer have violet textures...
Yeah, some of the heroes have had their textures redone over the past few months, but Valve did not update the workshop page with the new .vmts. If you want the most current textures, you'll have to de-compile them yourself using VTFEdit.
I've updated the set and rebooted the presentation. Makes quite a big difference.
Mostly I just redid the armor plates and updated some materials and textures.
Vote if you like because the workshop went weird this week and it's been buried.

Though i think that the lonely "cut" on the skirt is looking out of place, front of the skirt is too straight, cloth doesn't behave like that, even stretched out. The hair could use more color variations painted in, think of the fire, it's not just orange, but a spectrum so i suggest adding more reds at the bottom, more gold at the highlights, original Lina hair is a nice example, you also can see that they dropped a layer of real hair on top of the sculpt.
Finally had the time to finish this, having left it for a long time

This looks really awkward from the ingame view.
On a second thought, let's review it some more. The white lines are really awkward too, and not because they look like some sort of stitches from the far away, but also because they're supposed to be pushed in, but their value tells us that they're pushed out.
If you played his original dark purple line and turned it into more defined tatoo and changed those "vents" to black with high specs it looked better and more interesting, kind of like the inside of his default mouth and lips. Also cutting the back of his head would've solved the silhouette issue.
My favourite Silent Hill had some of the greatest monsters that you could reference
I'm not sure this is actually right, my item now has 29 positive and 2 negative and it has 4 stars. It seems it must be a combination of views and percentage, that's the only thing I can think of.
good call. if you think about it, just a plain number of votes give you 4 stars would be stupid. i think its the percentage of possitive votes in some relation to the number of votes (which is weird cause percentage is always in relation to other numbers xD )

I see what you mean, but the idea is that the bottom cylinder can be used to extend the main barrel. So it will look quite weird if I would would make it smaller. Also the scope should bring the variation.

Congratz to everyone who has managed to get sets/items in the store. Its been a while since I've had the chance to work on any Dota stuff but I've finally got around to finishing up my next collaboration with Teestock. I know theres a whole bunch of sets for Axe but he's such an awesome character it would be rude not too!

Going to pose him up for a render so Teestock can get working on the presentation / marketing image for the store. Will post those up in a few days, hope you guys like it.
Btw, in regards to the votes/stars conversation, I have an item with 277 votes, 90% upvotes, and it's still at 4 stars :X. Having votes above 92-93% or so is really important.
PS. Does anyone else tend to get a bunch of downvotes in the first 30 minutes - 1 hour that they upload stuff? Like way out of proportion to how the item performs for the rest of the week.
I like what your'e doing with Lina's hair, but I can't help but feel that you can stand to take more risks with it. I like the braids, but the hair's main body seems very similar to her default hairstyle.
I think the scratches are too many and too strong, you could wipe out a lot of them and make the remainder more subtle.
Apart from that, I liked the model and texture a lot, it would be an awesome weapon for Riki.

It's something I'm trying to look out more for, balancing the amount of low/medium/high detail, as I tend to get carried away with scratches, cuts, holes and stuff while sculpting, and forget that it's eventually going to be inside a 256x256 texture
Something to improve on the next model I guess!
Anyway, I think I'll finish it up today and maybe submit tomorrow, lets see

There's a thread over on http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=70321&page=2 where you can let Valve know about problems with the downloaded models, please add your stuff there so they're aware of it!
