Here is a render of some of my first ever handed painted assets I have done recently, feel free to let me know what you think
Paint more bevels and use more colours is my oppinion Especially the crate. Wood is not simply brown and the bright edges makes it look a bit like metal. Maybe try and tone those down a bit and look at some reference.
Good luck and nice work so far!
Hey! Deathwing is one of my favorites character's of WoW... really like the different look you gave it, although it still remains clear that its DW we are seeing.
One thing that I found hard to locate though, were the eyes. They seem a bit "lost" around all the other details. I would paint a bit more color richness into it and definitely give it some glow as well. Right now it kind of looks like a piece of candy that was put there . Great work in a very short time!
It was a pretty specific case of doodling the body during a Dothraki scene and the head/helm during a Tyrion and Hill-tribes scene But I probably should have specified "inspired by but not based on" in the initial post.
Update to my foliage scene! New terrain and new foliage models! I need to add smaller flowers and more trees next. Start to introduce some nice yellow/orange/red color variation !
So the thing is that I'm revisiting an assignment from first year of game dev school. I want my exam (haven't had any use for it until now :P)
The assignment is to animate a character in an environment that is modular and it needs be shown in a game engine. I eventually managed to get it into UDK with "good" results and now I'm animating. The thing is that I never liked animation and I've never been any good at. I'm still lousy, but it's actually kinda fun. Well what ever..
Something I did for school. Was my first time going through the High to Low process and some baking. Really glad how it turned out so far. Hoping to visit this again and learning more about texturing.
Also did these a couple weeks ago:
Needs a lot more love and attention to liven up the scene. Once I figure out how to do foliage, I'm sure that'll help a lot.
Recreating a character from one of my favorite games. Still need to work on the hands, pants, sleeves, and shoes(haven't even touched the soles). Still very splotchy to me.

Been re-watching Game of Thrones and working on some medieval/fantasy type dudes, clothing and armor is all block-in stuff.

Moving on to textures, those colors are base colors in textures..
recent project
I did loads of these, maybe 7 or 8 hours for each one, no textures, rendered as decimated meshes
I like this guy's design; the coin eyes are super nifty!

This is the 3rd and probably last one I'll do for this little set. Should probably start a thread soon...
Concept by Devon Cady-Lee, just incase no one looks at the Art Jam spot, info in that thread.

Had some problem with the polypainting, so i'm going to repaint everything inside photoshop or modo.
EDIT: Don't know how to put the image on the post =\. And this is a staryu btw

This was my entry for the Twisted Horror comp over at ZBrush Central.
Basically the idea was to take a horror movie character from a list they provided and give them a new profession... eg. Freddy Krueger as a mail man.
There are some really great entries here is a link to the thread : http://www.zbrushcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?137-Halloween-Challenge-2013
Wish me luck and keep the rad arts coming.
