Hello everyone, I will be posting some the projects and sculpts I work on, I do appreciate Comments and Critiques. Not much more to say for now, hope to share my work and have a look at all the awesome work everybody else putting hard work and hours into. Here a couple of screen shots of a succubus statue sculpt based on a…
when using normal maps with modular assets, i get seams on the borderedges of the 3d tile. this comes from different facing tangents(not vertex normal!) on the seams, as they are calculated from the uv position of the corresponding vertex. is there a way to fix this, as i have no tool to edit this manually in maya? my only…
Hi all, Hopefully a quick one - but I don't have much rigging practice, so I can't quite get it atm. Click for animaiton So thats what I need basically. The 2 vertical boxes can't 'move' but only 'rotate' on their pivot points near the bottoms. And the connecting box needs to be 'attached' to the top ends of the vertical…
Hi all, I have been working on a car model for Film and TV. The model is 300k polys with no subD and is UV unwrapped. My question is should I sub divide before or after texturing the model for best results? I'm torn between what to do as they both seem to have pros and cons. I'm also unsure what the usual practices are in…
Hi all. I'm working on my first full scene in UDK. My two main goals with this project are to practice building an environment with modular pieces and making a wide variety of foliage. My progress so far: For the building, I used Humayun's Tomb in Delhi as a reference.…
Hey everyone. I'm practicing environment art and trying to build a portfolio for a job so any criticism that can help me improve my work would be much much appreciated :) . This is my latest work I've set-up in UE4. modeling was done in Maya and textured in substance painter. And here's a link to the project in my…
I had a ton of fun approaching this. It was a real challenge for me to let go of certain workflows I always used, but I had to do some things different to get the look I felt I wanted. I'm happy with how it turned out! Besides that, it was also a big oppurtunity to practice a TON of vertex shader stuff: All of the…
I'm just now learning how to use it and its kind of confusing but I'll get the hang of it. I'm just curious what the "production" workflow is for animating with the curve editor. I would presume that you make the primary motions of an animation manually using controllers and then fine-tune it using the curve editor but I'm…
Hello guys, It's a part of a building that I'm making. How to make these jagged corners (yellow arrows) and this dirt (red)? I guess, I can make dirt using decals. But what to do with corners? AFAIK using normal maps for big constructions is bad practice. So I may bevel them and adjust vertex normal. Something like this…
For this project I wanted to practice pbr textures since I've never done it before and I felt it was a good occasion to learn how to use substance painter, which I really enjoyed ! Totally artist friendlyIt was also an occasion to use zbrush again and learn a few things since I kinda left it aside and I started to get…
