I recently participated in a casual event called 'March of robots' where you make robots based on a daily word prompt. I resolved to just make as many as I could, life withstanding. All were made with Sketchup and rendered with Substance Painter or 3dsmax. Hope you enjoy "Signal" "Darkness" "Power" "Danger" "Machine"…
I think its important to understand that even though this article tries to make it sound like a crisis is around the corner that is simply not the case. It was my understanding that with out current usage - which is extremely high - we would have another 50 years before things would have to change. I actually seem to…
This is based off of a concept piece by Artyom Vlaskin. Here's the basic block out. Right now I'm just trying to get the scale and proportions correct before I move on to defining edges for the high poly. If you have any Critiques or see anything that's really off I would love to hear it! Latest Update: Blockout: Concept:
Had the idea to make a crystal that is a beacon for ships to guide them past the dangerous rocks that it's build on. I started with gathering some pictures and making a few sketches. After that I made a blockout it 3dsmax to see if it would look nice.
Progress Update #1 With this new project, I am trying to go for a "Retro Futurism" feel that will hopefully be apparent through the architecture and the vehicle. This will run along 12 weeks until the end of August and every 2 weeks I will be posting updates. The updates will include the progress of the surrounding city,…
I'm working on a stylized, low poly scene based on this concept by Nick Egberts. Hopefully we can all learn from my blunders along the way =D I'm torn between putting all the textures onto one sheet, or making tileable textures. I'm leaning towards the latter, because I really like this style and would love to have the…
Be careful not to put the mouths too low or lower the chin. Body proportions needs more practice. You're hiding it behind nice rendering. The new portrait is definitely a step up. Neck should be more in shade as it's further back in the hood. I recommend experimenting more with stronger cast shadows. It's a powerful tool…
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/saskatchewan/story/2010/09/26/sask-report-cards-no-docking-marks.html#socialcomments this just blows my mind. I've been stewing about it since I've read it. Thought I'd pass on the insanity to the rest of you :)
Also, keep in mind that GTX750 series cards require much less power which means you can get away with a slightly lower spec PSU. The cards themselves don't cost too much either. EDIT: this article has some nice benchmark comparisons: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-750-ti-review,3750-18.html
An asset I created on my free time. Please any critiques are welcomed and encouraged. Going for a low poly asset that can be adjusted to any amount of stories high or low. Modeled in Maya and Rendered in Substance Painter 2. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Q603d
