Im fairly new to modeling especially in Mudbox and need criticism on areas i could improve on. Pillar made using 3Ds Max and Mudbox. It would be awesome if someone could give me some advice on how I could go about texturing this aswell :) - Thanks :D PS: you may not get a reply in the next few days as im away but i will…
Can't you just assign a checker texture and resize them yourself so they all have equal texture space? It would be far from optimal but it should be easy enough to fix the problem you're having.
This is an area I struggle a lot with. How would you texture the green glass shade and a regular cloth shade so that it look realistic when the light is turned on? My knowledge thus far and how I would try to do it is as followed: Substance painter; using the metal rough with alpha blending shader > then adding opacity as…
Holla all. When textureing and baking, is it worth it to add polygons to a repeating wall, this way to bump out the normal that would otherwise be flat if viewed from the side( two left side)? you know, matching the highPoly mesh more better. Or would it just be better to leave it one flat plane (far right image.) Iam also…
If AI starts replacing artists, AI will also be replacing a lot of other humans and their jobs. Much larger stuff to worry about in broad scheme than the subsection of art that is 3D modeling. AI is already replacing things like creating tiling textures and moving around pixels on a texture to make it seamless. Which is…
Ghost Recon 2 has shipped for the Xbox so I thought Id show the work I did through Streamline Studios on the cinematic. I did the texturing for these high poly heads. Each head consist of a diffuse, bump, and spec map. Im not sure if the modeler wants to be openly credited or not but as soon as I find out Ill be sure to…
Not sure if this is the best section for this q. When you're creating textures (in this case for a game asset, hard surface spaceship), how do you deal with the apparently never ending amount of detail that needs to be painted onto these? Not talking about scratches or paint wear, rather the seemingly endless amount of…
sry guys, i need your help. when complate polypainting character in zbrush like this (hightpoly) : [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqkMaLmIG5w"]Tribute to Stanley Lau's Pepper - WIP Polypaint & Sculpt - YouTube[/ame] i use retopology in zbrush made lowpoly, and export to 3ds max, create UV complate. i re-import to…
Hi I'm just making this post to check if anyone has any idea on how to create a texture, or material similar to Planetary annihilation. Below are some images of PA so you have the idea of the look I'm trying to achieve. I mainly use Unreal 4. Please post below is you have any idea on how to create this style.…
