You have loads of proportion issues with the gun, not to mention inacuracies in the modeling. All of this stuff should have been resolved in the blockout stage. These are just a few that i saw on that single pic. Didn't look at the right side of the gun. You have to do that yourself and have a critical eye for your own eye…
@Ouran, @VeryCrunchyTaco Thanks guys! :) @FourtyNights Cool, thanks for the advice. I'll adjust the topology accordingly. In the meantime, I've done some hair tests. These are baked from FiberMesh and then put into Unreal. What you see in the end of the video is a light map which I've baked onto a second set of UVs.…
Hey guys, So this is where I am with the ground foliage/lighting now... C&C Very Welcome. I'm attempting to build a tree bark substance but I'm failing miserably... does anyone know of a decent tutorial on concepts to build tree bark shapes? or does anyone happen to feel kind enough to share some techniques for me to get…
also: here are some shots of the level currently being worked on. mostly Mass Effect and Star Wars inspired. This is for a final demo project at school, that I and 6 other friends are working on. We are aiming to make a gears of war type of game, as far as gameplay goes, but blend in two worlds of scifi and steampunk. This…
Thanks guys for replying back and giving your input, I now realize that the scene needs more and it could have an interesting theme to make it stand out. I agree destroying the bar from a storm or a bar fight would make it more interesting and give it a story, one idea which might sound a little out there would be "Giant…
Dear Polycount community, I want to share some environment art including some breakdowns of my tribute to Berlin. To get an idea for the whole environment I collected lots of images first and figured out the whole map layout. Once I got a clue about the dimensions and scale I started my first basic blockouts and light…
In this project, I want to re-create the Lynx Xtrim SC 900 ACE as a game mesh for Unreal Engine. It would also be displayed in a snowy scene and be slightly modular by having the seats be changeable to have a single or double-seat layout and the option to have the box on the back be taken on and off. Depending on how the…
Hello polycount! Sharing my first ever fully complete character in 3D. Spent couple of months on it. Was quite challenging for me, especially head and hands. General workflow was to first create a rough blockout in 3Ds Max, use it as an avatar in Marvelous Designer, where I generated all the clothing. Next stage was…
Hey polycounters! Been a while since I've made a WIP thread. I wanted to document my process here. Goals for this project: -Practice handpainting -Learn to hand paint fur -Work on speed throughout the project, work on getting less caught up in sculpt details -Get a nice, colorful portfolio piece! :) This is the character I…
I've been replaying Breath of the wild and Dark Souls, so it inspired me to work on a scene of ruins for a new project, I want to eventually merge it with a forest scene I worked on last year, so it'll be more stylized then realistic looking. I think the project will give me a chance to work more on making variations on…
