Snowmobile Project (WIP)

In this project, I want to re-create the Lynx Xtrim SC 900 ACE as a game mesh for Unreal Engine. It would also be displayed in a snowy scene and be slightly modular by having the seats be changeable to have a single or double-seat layout and the option to have the box on the back be taken on and off. Depending on how the project goes I may make it into a customizer but this is more of a stretch goal.

Any feedback on areas that I can improve on is welcome as I continue to develop this project.

Below you can see the snowmobile that I want to recreate here.

Here you can see the early blockout that I did of the snowmobile.

Here you can see the start of the development of the main mesh as well as how the treads are being made. I plan on making the tracks work in a slightly different way to how I normally would approach this which would be to bake the track details down and have a panning texture to simulate the tracks moving and instead try working with the mesh.

Here you can see how the snowmobile was developed after the block out.

Here you can have a closer look at the dash.

This is what it looked like on 8.8.23. The main difference is more detail added to the front portion of the snowmobile.

On 9.8.23 I made the other seat as well as looked into adding more details to other sections of the snowmobile.

One of the things I want to do is adjust the front section of the snowmobile as it seems a little too steep and also begin optimizing the mesh.

Here is an update on the snowmobile. I have done a low-poly pass and reached my tri-count goal of somewhere between 70k - 100k tris and have also unwrapped the snowmobile into 4 different texture sets.

Below you can see the current lowpoly mesh.

Here you can see how I've separated the different meshes.

Here you can see the UVs for the different groups.
This is the UVs for the glass, lights and reflectors.
This is the Uvs for the Mechanical components.

This is the UVs for the panel sections.

And finally here are the UVs for the swappable components. Here you can see the results of my bakes on the low poly.
    This is the mechanics.
