@Mant1k0re, What I am referring to as "their niche" is what the software is used for and where it stands within the workflow itself. Referring to something's niche doesnt connote that its not popular or widely used but that it has a specialized market associated with it. (see English definition) There is a core difference…
hey everyone, due to the sad passing of Stan Lee :( I decided to honour him by making a realistic bust of him. I plan to show my work in process on this feed and hope I would get some feedback on my work. Thank you for your time.
I did end up figuring this out. Exported the skeletal body mesh from unreal to maya, moved the feet into the heel position with the foot_l/foot_r and ball_l/ball_R bones. From there I copy/transferred the weights from the body mesh to the shoes and moved everything back before exporting just the shoes which were then…
Hey guys, looking for feedback on my first realistic bust. Not sure why I've put myself through the torture of a self-portrait/likeness but I've spent too long on this project not to see it though, and I'm at the stage where I would love some feedback! It's my first time posting but don't go easy on me. :) (Hair, eyebrows…
Hi there! After studying the male anatomy I decided to give a shot to the female one so I'm making this bust to practice female faces and here it is what I have so far. However, I'm struggling to make the "wool hat". I created the piece below in 3ds max and exported to Zbrush in order to make the "base" of the hat using…
Hello Everyone ! Here i wanted to post my personal challenge for creating a realistic Bust / Head for a game engine. Approximate time for finishing this is 6th August. The goal is to sculpt the female head as realistic as possible, retopologize it, and then render in some game engine (marmoset or unreal 4) If i'll still…
I used the same method and initially it looked like it will work but it all went out the window as soon as I mirror the 4 panels each with these 3 wave propeller shapes with symmetry, also I used the tetrahedron angle too of 109.471 which lined things up almost perfect but the pattern interlock didnt work. At the end of…
Hi Guys! I am making a character bust inspired by Horizon Zero Dawn's characters. I want to practice realistic anatomy, texturing, game-ready hair and detailed hard surface modeling (for the decorations, jewelry, etc). The character style I am going for: Image found on Dan Calvert's wonderful Artstation My first WIP: So…
Hi there! (First things first: Sorry for my bad English!) I'm newbie here in Polycount, and starting this last year with 3D stuff. Recently i've learned Maya and Zbrush, so I'm using this summer hollydays to make a small project. I'm sculpting my second or third Zbrush bust and later I want to bake it in low poly when…
Long time lurker, first time poster. (lurked for like 5 years, seriously). Anyway, I made this bust in Mudbox. I'm still getting used to the program but this is my 2nd real sit-down attempt at making a realistic face. I tend to play with 3D Max/PSP/Unrealed etc so I'm kind of winging it most of the time. Any suggestions?…
