hey everyone, due to the sad passing of Stan Lee I decided to honour him by making a realistic bust of him. I plan to show my work in process on this feed and hope I would get some feedback on my work. Thank you for your time.
I'd say his head is a little bit more squarish than what you have currently. Keep looking at reference work and see if you can setup an orthographic plain in zbrush(if you haven't already).

update. looking at ref and placing the images of stan lee into zbrush to move the overall shape into the correct shape. added some of the basic folds into the face. Plan now to add the high detail wrinkles to the head.
Made the lower poly version which contains about 10,000 tris (left). while the right side is about 40,000 tris. I plan to have a version of the right one for my final presentation of my model.
Hi @chrishircock good progress! I'm happy that you have continued to share your updates regardless of the 'radio silence'. I look forward to seeing this finished up. I think the biggest challenge you need to tackle is some in depth anatomy understanding. For your next few pieces, please focus on the primary large forms and maybe some secondary forms. But it's most critical to nail down the base forms before diving into the secondry forms, don't even think about the minutia of pores and skin folds (tertiary deets). You need to have an understanding of whats going on underneath. "Sculpt what you know, then what you see" - Scott Eaton. Focus on planes of the face, skull shape/landmarks, and muscle origins/insertions.
Here's a little paintover illustrating the primary form differences. It's tough to nail down a likeness but I dont think you did too bad. Keep pumping out more studies and you'll improve fast. Cheers
Something that would help immensely if ur looking for crits is to post a front, side, 3/4 of your sculpt next to an image of each angle that you are using for ref. things to look out for in ref images is camera FOV being pretty neutral and not distorting facial proportion, time frame so ur not getting differences in volume, and stuff by plastic surgery or makeup for women(not really an issue with Stan of course). Right now, the face feels quite long. I think you need to widen the cranium as well as the zygomatic. Forget about the details and drop to a lower subdiv to get better primary forms to match the ref images. His eyes are def too high but this is probably stemming from his face being too long. Eye should be roughly halfway down his face.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Really graceful for it.
So I pulled the cheeks and sides a bit to make the top head wider. The eyes and nose height are at the correct place as shown on the left side image of stan lee.
be careful with some of ur front ref shots. the fov is absolutely getting distorted. side looks pretty solid. make sure you fov in zbrush is around 30 as well. it will also help to drop ur head into something like marmoset to check with the cameras in another viewer. I can barely tell the difference between before and after. maybe put them side by side. try to find a front ref that is taken from a bit more of a distance...not selfie or head shot close.
@Eleszar1 and @slosh , I edited the skull a bit and made the neck more wider, i made the low poly mesh and uv and baked everything. I am now planning to do the hair.
i think perhaps you rushed it a bit. it should look like him before you add any tertiary details. If you save in increments go back before you started adding the details and really work on the likeness. Right now it really doesn't look anything like him. Keep at it though
Not the final version, still working on it, some parts need improving on. Just wanted to show my process on the model since I haven't posted anything awhile now. Was busy with work and other things. This was rendered in SketchFab

Feedback would be great, thanks.

i don't understand what you mean on the step 3: pre final base details. Please explain further. sadly I can't find a front view of him.
