I was wondering if HL2 is happier with single mesh models or if multiple object models are acceptable. I'm thinking of doing an art test for a MOD and they're using the HL2 engine. So any advice would be helpful.
I am trying to model this body to look somewhat human. I am pretty new to modelling and 3D so critique would be most welcome. :-) Image Link: http://cghub.com/images/view/226691/
Pretty much finished this now and would love some feedback, be as critical as you like. Would love some feedback on the animations as I've never rigged/animated…
For this project I wanted to improve on my texturing skills and get away from texturing assets in photoshop. In order to do this I wanted to come up with a project that was based heavily around texturing so thats how Alpha-17 came about. The robot design and model was made to be simple and not very high in poly's so most…

I've been messing around with using Alphas to model a bit quicker for large scenes (instead of making a high poly and low poly model and baking), and while I tried to use my own for a while, I found some free ones online that are absolutely AMAZING. They have perfect gradients, they have perfect grey values, and so much…
