It's important to consider how your asset will typically be viewed in an actual running game. This kind of asset is a prop, not a "hero asset" and thus will not be allocated a ton of resources. It needs to be simple, low poly, not worried about silhouette except the most roughest shape.
Hey guys, so after seeing all the amazing work being done for Dota 2 i thought id finally give it ago my self! :) Have recently been trying to get some ideas for some items to create, so first of all i plan to make a bow for the Windranger Here is some VERY rough/quick blockout design ideas for a eagle themed bow, i really…
Whole Body Ok, I've gone and mapped him. Map There's quite a few unused areas, which I don't like, but aside from making some small part ridiculously huge, I'm not sure how else I can arrage everything to fill them. The wing is kind of an odd shape that takes up a lot of space. I tried using the uvHelp, but that just made…
Hey everyone, This is a quick scene design and lighting study inspired by the upcoming game "The Last Night" and its cyber-punk themes. I tried to experiment with a couple of lighting styles to stay with the theme. I also added some characters to tell a story about what happened in the scene. This was different to the kind…
Hello all Below are the meshes I am trying to uv-map. The scale of this thing is not making life easy but I do like a challenge. I have uv mapped the ring / tunnel but adding a normal image map (8192 x 8192) is stretched to oblivion and looks horrific. So I am wondering if I am biting off more than i can chew or is there a…
I would threaten to play that over the PA system every single day if the dl-ing didn't stop posthaste. Whether the person is found and fired or not, I think your company needs to have a meeting about this so it's clearly outlined that this kind of behavior isn't tolerated.
EDIT: Site loads fine for me. First off, good job so far! Your art is colorful and pretty well designed, attracts attention very well. But I think you need to figure out what you really want to do, rather than showing off... everything. I can't tell quite what you're showing off specifically and you have no title…
Not sure if this is the right place for this but : I'm currently a high school student doing btec extended art and I'm sure that game art is what I want to go for. I'm hoping that maybe one day i'll be either a skin designer , ui artist or environment artist, but I really dont know very much about this industry , so any…
I don't use SPainter much but from your initial screen an description I looks like your material uses some tillable stretched noise using your original UV with some scaling factor . That way they never be looking perfectly seamless, mirrored or not . Besides any small height details turned to normal map are never in fact…
Good job! Kind of reminds me of Lord of Darkness from Legend (1985). Here's what I think. About the model: -The facial features don't line up with the wire frames -It could be nicer if you used some sort of reference for the face -I also think the feet are a bit weird looks like a human foot attached to a hoof (but then…
