Hey all, this is my first official post here. I wanted to show you my sculpt that I finished yesterday. I'm still looking for critique so give me your best shot :) This is the n-th iteration of the same character, where I improved with each new attempt. Now finally, I'm really happy with the results, so I decided to come…
Hi Nebbmus, For just starting to sculpt you're off to a pretty good start. There are a few things that I think you could improve on as you continue your sculpting journey. The first thing I notice is a lack of defined muscle anatomy. I know that this creature is not humanoid so it wouldn't have exactly human anatomy or…
Does anyone know what bottlenecks me? I have just bought a GTX 780 Superclocked from EVGA and while viewport and such is blazing fast, the sculpting per se with big brushes is still pretty slow: annoying. What is the problem? may be my i7 920?
For my final term at Think Tank, I'm doing 3 characters in 12-14 weeks under the mentorship of Roderick Weise, Senior Character Artist at Bungie. This is the first of three. High res sculpt WIP below. Based on the concept Comet Rider by Shuo Shi: Both jacket and pants constructed in Marvelous Designer, and finished in…
Hello Polycount, This is my first post/thread in here. I'm currently working on a speedy that turned out into something a little more ambitious. I'm making a sculpt of Hellboy, and I was more aiming to frame his look from the comic book though, but in the end it probably won't have too much in common with the character…
This is my second attempt in creating a human figure from scratch and am hoping to improve it before I bake and rig it. As I don't think my eyes can do me much more good. I wanted the characters form to be exaggerated, to give it a bit more or a stylized feel but I'm not sure if I'm going in the right direction. As…
Hey guys! First time posting on polycount! Excited to get involved in this community. Anyways, I'm new to Zbrush(and 3d art in general) so I was looking for some feedback and critiques? Only been using the software for about 3 months. I did this sculpt at the end of december, and just got around to re-rendering it(Previous…
Hi folks, I'm trying to tackle a subject that has always been a personal weakness: sculpting. I figured I would try to do study of an antique, something with a mix of organic shapes and hard surface detail, and get some nicely-defined PBR materials. Here is my ref pic: And here is my progress so far: I've been using the…
Hey guys I have a question regarding baking. Basically, I have this cauldron here which I sculpted a small detail into as a test and was confused as to where to go from here to achieve the low poly from this model. Do I duplicate and decrease the multi-res?
Thanks for the advice! The use of well-made eyes allowed me to feel them better. The eyes are a bit deformed, I didn't notice the mask on, but it didn't bother me too much. :p I will paste the screen of my sculpt below. I think i made mistake, sculpting it without references, all from memory. I'll buy one of these scans…
