Hello Polycount! This is an ocean material that I have been working on for the last few months. It's still a work in progress, so I'm looking forward to some critique on how I can make it look and perform better. Also, I am going to be doing my best to get into the technical stuff while I'm at it. I watched a tutorial on…
Hi guys, I want to show this new character I've made. Between cyberpunk and noir genres, I had lots of fun working in this real time character. Working the lighting and shaders in UE4 is really gratifying. Sculpted in zbrush, textures were painted in Substance Painter and rendered in Unreal Engine 4. More high resolution…
Hey there, I've been working on this as a personal project lately. The idea was to test a workflow by creating a snowy mountain landscape in UE4.
I started it during a week end some months ago, then decided to invest some more time to "finish" it. Here is a video made using matinee and some screenshots from the engine, I…
So I am trying out importing cloth simulated in Blender into ue4. Would using alembic file format to import the simulation affect performance? or vertex animation tool would be more ideal. From what I have researched, vertex animation tool is limited to 8192 vertices so geometry higher than this won't work.
Hey guys, i want to export my landscape out of ue4 as obj and import it in 3ds max with the materials. the export as obj works but i don't get a mtl file. when import the obj in max i get the message that the mtl file is missing. How can i export my landsacpe with materials and bring it into 3ds max? thanks
Hello people! Just wanted to open quick thread about my project that is powered by UE4 (version 4.7) It's planned as Oculus showcase and presentation but later on I will publish little game, probably something like Dear Esther but the scale of the game and project greatly depends from Unreal Dev Grants where I applied. Few…
Hi guys I was doing a little play around with lighting in UE4. Do you have any suggestions on how I could improve the lighting in my scene? The top image is the reference I was using for my lighting. I selected it because it had a nice bouncing of colours in the scene.
Anyone have tips for setting up renders in UE4? Any tips or tricks, anything I need to turn on? I've had mixed luck with using a post process volume and two spotlights against a grey curtain, but I want to know what you fellas use for ideas. Thanks! :)
Hi!I don't really know if this more UE or Blender topic. I'm doing the rigging stuff to Unreal Engine 4 with rigify workflow. It works perfectly, but it requires from you retargeting animations from marketplace. I'm thinking about to simplify the workflow with getting rid of "retarget step" on the engine and animating…
Hi Sheers, thanks for the input. Yes the white srtipe seems a lot more intense in UE4 than in substance painter viewport. I may have to tweak the colors. For the orange parts I'm going to make a mask to be able to change the color inside UE4.
