Hey thanks for the feedback :) There actually is a normal map on it! Better look at that again if it's reading flat... Hmm... texel density... *googles texel density* I have a bit of time left to work out rendering etc. better get to work! Cheers Dan
Hey guys i am currently working on a small modular hallway environment. The goal for this project is to learn modular environments and trimsheets. I have a similar wall like this I For the red one i am using a damaged wall plaster tiling texture and for the blue one i was planning to use a trim sheet, But what happens is…
Hello! So I'm having trouble setting my texel density in 3ds max. I have downloaded both textools and texel density tool and they both give me strange results every time, either making my shells incredibly small, making them disappear or even making 3ds max crash altogether. Honestly I'm not sure what to do. This should be…
SO I thought what would be the best way to inform how much texture space an asset that is part of a texture with other things in it? Tellling for example that sword has 2k textures doesn't tell much if there is other things in the same map, so could texel density provide more accurate information about it? i.e. sword has…
Just a quick question here. Is it better to us up all the space on a uv map or maintain even texel density? I thinking of an example like a barrel where you have one big piece and two ends that don't take up that much room.
I got a quick question a quick video for "textool" texel density for environment (simple environment). I would like to know how to deal texel density for beach environment. with 2k texture and how to deal with text tool to get clear density. here my video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAuAfiGc1y8&feature=youtu.be
Does anyone have texel density script, which would adjust texel for all selection, but individual shells individually? Default Maya Get and Set Texel tool creates gaps between shells.
Well in my opinion the easiest way to see that everything having the same texel density is to apply a checker texture to everything in the scene. and then modify the uv's so that the checker pattern is the same size on everything in the scene.. then you know that everything have the same texel density..
I have had this issue. I'm told it is a problem where you have 8192 and have reduced the texel density below 2048, but I have yet to nail it down to a specific. I think there is a bug where it is messing up the texel density drastically.
