Hi! I will model the high poly part by part. Here's how I'll break the body into different meshes(shown with different colors) in order to avoid an unnecessarily complicated subD cage. Also, the buttons etc. will be separate meshes where possible: I'll have more time tomorrow, must sleep now.

particles cant be created in dota2, you can only use the once in the game for the specific hero. The information on how to do that is floating around about the last couple of pages in the dota2 workshop thread.
ok started with the gaurd thing, created the basic shape then made the holes as cylinders cutting them to intersect correctly and then used mayas edge extrude to create the hard edge loop which i connected the mian body polys to now to figure the otherside out
I haven't attempted to model a gun since my early early days as a 3d artist. Got so intimidated and frustrated with them that I've pretty much avoided them since... So I figured this would be a good project to tackle. Early wires!
