Hello guys, I am a 3D sculpting artist making likeness sculptures and I was wondering if anyone can advise me as to how to sculpt this kind of hair ? what is the technique behind it? Thank you so much in advance to anyone who answers.
i think you are on the money. marvelous can give good results and certainly better than most mortals can sculpt. but its a pain to use and to hand-hold these simulations through an obstacle course of potential pitfalls that force you restart the sim and repeat the order of steps needed to get everything into shape again.…
Short answer: no. Long answer: It's hard to learn to sculpt female/male from a tutorial when it can take a life to learn proper anatomy... Even longer answer (but doesn't look like it): You need to learn anatomy to be able to sculpt bodies properly, no shortcut, sorry. Contrary to many other tutorial teaching you "technic"…
I want to get better at sculpting people. I might have gone a little too fast and posted this to my artstation a bit too early along my journey of learning. Big mistake. I feel that there are quite a few mistakes but I'm not able to pinpoint what aspects are wrong exactly. I might have been looking at this a bit too long…
so I'm going to try and whip together an entry for the mudbox competition as I've started to get pretty decent with it, and I realized I don't really know the answer to something so I take a base mesh for a character and unwrap it, import it into mudbox and being to sculpt and paint it, it's done and it's awesome How…

For the most part, the facial anatomy…

My job is to fully sculpt, rig and animate a 60ft giant creature. I was hoping you guys with more experience than I in sculpting could kindly give me some feedback on how I can improve the…
When you sculpt on something thin, ZBrush will sculpt on the other side the opposite of what it sculpts on the one side. What you need to do if you don't want this to be the case is go to Brush->Auto Masking and click BackFaceMask, and you'll no longer have this problem. However, if you have a lot (>2mio) of points you'll…
I was sculpting this model and I mirrored the symmetry on the facial features along the X axis and started refining the face further.Later on,I zoomed out and noticed this: Turns out I must have mirrored the mesh along the Y axis by mistake, eliminating her legs and didn't noticed because the cam was zoomed in on the…
Hey all! First time posting here. Been lurking around here for sometime now, admiring the beutiful art people post here. I have been doing 3D art actively for more than a year now, but sculpting is quite new to me. I mainly work for mods right now, but I hope to gain much more experience to hopefully in the future work as…
