i have to make a character with a maximum of 1600 tris for the the valkyrie profile challenge. my wip thread is here , no modeling yet. i was wondering, should i build the arms and legs of 6 sided cylinders or 4 sided or how much is appropriate for a model like that? and maybe to make the thread a bit more interesting,…
Hey, looks pretty good: One of the tools listed is 'Gigapixel AI' so I don't know how much of this is actually your work. I see you intend to add breakdown/process shots, so that's good. I recommend doing an image showing it tiled. Lots of photogrammetry based materials look amazing until they start repeating. You've also…
Hello, So I've been a long time Blender user for a while and am just now teaching myself Max. So I'm working on a model and I can't find a tool that is like Blender's Loop Cut (ctrl+r). So I just want to be able to add an edge in Max to a floating quad ribbon so I can bridge two edges without any tris. I know I can use the…
Sometimes I create an edge loop and then have to recalculate the incorrect toplogo angle after bevel or Multip cut, then have to recalculate the Edge Flow. So sometimes I use the Crease tool again. However, I found out that Crease does not support when exporting to other software. I want to ask those in the industry…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE3_pqw-KNU&t=2s Hi everyone, I’ve been working on Hairflow, a specialized 2D tool designed to bridge the gap between sculpting high-fidelity hair and the tedious process of creating hair card textures for real-time engines. The philosophy is simple: Groom in 2D on a flat canvas, and bake…
Anybody have an idea if Loop mode or Ring mode selection is possible in the Unwrap UVW modifier? Similar to the "PolyTools" "RingModeToggle" and "PolyTools" "LoopModeToggle"
Yes, jth852 is right. If you use the guides you will never get the loops the way you want unfortunately. They only slightly influence the flow, but definitely don't help with avoiding spiral loops. I have tried using the guides extensively with poor results. Glad you guys found this helpful!
Hi! I think it would help if you marked the area you're are talking about. The most prominent feature I see is stepping along the edges due to the resolution and grid topology of the mesh that's being displaced. Suppose you could work against the stepping by adjusting your content to have a bit more rounded-off stones…
Hi all, I'm wondering if someone on here can help me work out some constraint loops for a model I'm currently working on. I've been having issues with corners of a certain are bulging out when put into Turbosmooth, the model is planned to be the high poly which I'll be using to bake normal maps from which means this…
I was pointed in this direction by my teacher earlier today. It's a nifty little script that you guys might like if you don't already know of it. Instead of adding your support edges with Connect and Swift Loop you can just run this script in your modifier stack and it's completely nondestructive! Not sure if you're…
