Hey guys, I've been working on making a UDK scene of the Gryffindor Boy's dorm from Harry Potter and I through it's time I gathered up my courage and shared it with you fine folk. I'll be the first to admit that I'm making this up and learning as I go along, so any feedback would be most welcome! Reference Image: Iv'e got…
Hi Guys! I strted useing 3DS Max and i'm just getting used to its workflow. In maya I would group together objects in heirarchies/parent/children. (ie, window glass to window frame, to whole window) And then instance that across the scene (like i'm doing in max). As far as I can tell, it isn't even a heavy scene. Just a…
Hello, I'm part of a Brothers In Arms mod team and have a question about making multiple texture files for a model of a farmhouse. When I originally got the 3D Max file from the guy who modeled it he had UV Mapped it into one texture file. I textured it and then later found that the sides of the house were very blurry.…
Hey everyone. This will be my new scene for my Portfolio. I've finished most of the Blockout stage and I'm now chipping away on the individual models. I would love to hear some comments and critique about the scene layout etc. I'll try to update the scene as often as possible. Here are some Screenshots from UE4. The scene…
Hi everyone, this is my last project! Based on an awesome D3 concept by Peet Cooper. And old house lost in the middle of nowhere, it was designed to be a wow fanart but i think the house itself deserve more attention from me. So this is what i got this far, the roof is composed of 2251 distinct tiles, i know this is an…
Hello! I've been working on this Gotland-inspired environment in UE5 over the summer vacation period. I recently started getting into photogrammetry and using textures from images from the real-world to create an environment in that same location. In my case that's within the bays of the limestone, pebble beaches and…
You could try it like this: The red parts are your main bones. The watch face bone should be the root bone. From the root, you'll have one joint chain (Blue) going down towards the second bone - look up a spine rigging toturial if you're not sure how to set that up. From there, you'll have two bones controlling each part…
A few things: 1) It looks like your wood grain on the shelving is flowing the same way across every piece. Unless it was carved out of one giant piece of wood the grain is going to flow in a way that makes that piece the strongest it can. Even with particle board they wrap in a wood pattern that would flow like wood does.…
@ Justin_Meisse I was looking at the project of undoz quite a time because the eyes are too much wrong but the all-embrancing look on this project is still marvelous to me. the problem; I am not trying to build a kid ,I am trying to build a teenager. I am really glad that I haven´t seen such bad comics.(but you are right…
What I mean is that Doom 3 environments (the most typical techbase ones) are built from prefabricated pieces, elements, of metal or concrete. Such as floor plates, or wall panels. A lot of these are quadratic or rectangular, because Doom 3 used tiling textures (well, materials) with sizes such as 512x512 or 512x256. So if…
