Hi Guys! I strted useing 3DS Max and i'm just getting used to its workflow.
In maya I would group together objects in heirarchies/parent/children. (ie, window glass to window frame, to whole window) And then instance that across the scene (like i'm doing in max). As far as I can tell, it isn't even a heavy scene. Just a building with some windows, doors, and a placeholder roof. Whenever I click on something, it takes forever to think about it... Then instancing.. think.. then copy.. think... etc.
But it seems like max doesn't like it when I do this. it hates instansing it even more. Is the feature just... broken? or can I improve my workflow somehow?
(also, it isn't my pc.) I'm happy to share the file if anyone else wants to try.

I'm not to far along, I could just make it again and start a fresh scene.
Go to Tools | Manage Local Explorers and delete all that noise.
Then you can open the Global Layer Explorer from the main toolbar.
Now everything is snappy for me.
