Basically i am using substance painter 2 to bake out my normal maps. When i bake the normal maps there are obvious lines appearing all over the model along the edges of the low poly mesh. I have no idea why it is doing this but wouldn't be surprised if i am doing something wrong or it is a problem with the meshes. Around…
Hello everyone, I am a freelance 3D artist and a company wants me to make a low poly version of the next mall http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/9166/index2n0.jpg. I have more experience modelling for animation and films so I need some advice on this. The models will be used for a Kinect racing game that will be placed on…
If you want to model characters, it would be very beneficial for you to learn to draw. There are fundamental rules used in drawing that also apply equally in modeling. Proportion and anatomy is probably the most important thing to learn in drawing that is just as important in modeling. When you learn to draw well, your…
Keep in mind that every model is different. The time it takes to model a medieval, painterly chair for games is very different than it takes to make a futuristic chair for movies. It depends. Also keep in mind that artists always want to improve their work, so nothing is ever perfect. You will always find something that…
Model 01: Generator (Practice Work) This is the very first model i have created in 3ds max using reference images. It is a compact Generator model and i just used box modelling techniques. Have to say, 3ds max feels so comfortable than blender(not degrading it) Front End: Back End: :) :)
I am creating a new character and I was wondering if it is recommended to model the eye lids open or closed. I would think modelling the eye lids closed would be recommended as the generated maps would not be stretched when baking and after you can rig your eyes in the open position. Some feedback on this would be great.…
Hello, I want to model an object in 3ds max that has some cloth in it. In blender I had a solution for this. There I would use the cloth simulation, stop it at a point where I liked it and use it. How do you guys model cloth? all the knits etc? Is there a more or less easy way to do it? Thanks for help!
How would one do this? Make a cube, scale it and use vertex to drag araund to get the plank-shapes? Im looking for a way to model something like this: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3dsmax-modo-sculpt-photorealistic/888182 I own MODO-Indie, so I hope its possible to do it in the indie version too.
Hi everyone, I've been working on a 3D model for a uni assignment. This is progress so far, essentially a base mesh ready to be taken into Zbrush. As this is my first time modelling a full character, hearing feedback from more experienced and skilled artists would be awesome. Thanks [IMG][/img] [IMG][/img] [IMG][/img]…
Arch Virtual is looking for 3D modelers to develop prop assets for our projects (mostly furniture, fixtures, and equipment for non-game and arch viz projects). Applicants should have a keen eye for detail and an ability to deliver a high level of accuracy based on photo reference or a schematic drawing of an object.…
