Hey! Recently I did a research about hair. Me personally hate hair, I always had problems with it and still have. But maybe this will be helpful to others too. Just wanted to have this links in one place and share with others, feel free to comment and add yours. So the most useful info I found is from Zbrush Summit 2016.…
Hey guys, So after graduating from university, I didn't really have any skills. So from Sep 2013 to 2016, I was taking online workshops at iAnimate off and on to improve my animation skills. Started applying for jobs at the end of 2016 and got nothing. Didn't let this get me down. This year, I took an extra workshop to…

Working from home is actually very challenging. Last April of 2013, I took a remote contract job working from home and at first, I was on cloud nine man. I got to leave the job that I was at for 5 years, that I was totally burned out on...to do something that I absolutely love to do, from home...in my underwear! But this…
That's my que! As far as your VFX go, you could pretty much omit the Maya fluids examples from your portfolio, as they aren't helping you much. All of them feel like they were simmed at a fairly low resolution. The fire looks alright, though fairly basic. The explosions need more work. They don't have very good motion to…
Get experience by making a small game yourself, working with mod/indie teams that are working together remotely or even in-house in a small office space or out of someone's basement. I started off in high school, making really primitive animations and basic models/textures. Then started working my way up, transitioned from…
I really dig the concept, Sorken and your scene is well on its way to replicating that :) *Deep breath* With regards to the overall colouring of the scene, you've got it pretty close - with grungy greens and greys. Although your scene appears to have a fairly uniform value overall. If you blur your vision and look at your…
My thought on the barrel was that there's too much relative texture-space applied to the fittings at the top, so the details look too sharp. My assumption based on the screenshot is that they're quite a bit larger on the texture than the barrel, at least compared to the actual sizes. You could try dialing back the details…
A few things: 1) It looks like your wood grain on the shelving is flowing the same way across every piece. Unless it was carved out of one giant piece of wood the grain is going to flow in a way that makes that piece the strongest it can. Even with particle board they wrap in a wood pattern that would flow like wood does.…
This is the equivalent of saying uploading the audio alone of a movie deserves compensation to the authors that worked on the movie, minus the music. Phil Fish is in a position to say such a thing, since he's one of the larger heads of a studio, I'm pretty sure you average Dev won't see a penny if they are under a…
