How can you bake out a 16 bit normal map in Maya? I know EXR can bake out 32 bits but is there a way to change the size of the bits for any other maps in Maya?
@Gigantoad "currently compatible with Maya 2016 and UP including Maya LT versions (possibly compatible with Maya 2015 but I need someone to test it)"
I don't know solution to that exact problem but just in case you are not aware, maya has an incremental save feature. just toggle that on in the Save options. Anytime working with an error / crash prone part of maya (xgen is pretty buggy), it is always good to just spam save and then if you get any weirdness, roll back to…
Hey guys, I've been looking at tutorials and found this neat guide on creating comic book action lines as well as animating it. https://youtu.be/zD8hX-KSq4g?t=1344 Only problem is it's shown in Blender and I'm more comfortable using Maya. I've tried following the tutorial in Maya and to be honest I'm lost. Is it possible…

I've got a bit tired of Blender's somewhat odd default settings on its solid OpenGL lights to shade objects. Maya's one looks a lot better to me. I already have a Maya's gradient colors ;) These are Blender's default OpenGL…
Hey, I'm trying to teach myself Maya after using only Max. One of my favourite tools in Max was connect, so I was wondering if there is anything similar in Maya v6.5? While I suppose it's not needed, it was a major part of how I model. Thanks for the help, and any tips anyone has on making the transition from Max to Maya…

I hadn't opened Maya before March, I'm kinda surprised that I could do this haha. Just pimping my first big attempt at this :)
