Hey, I just have a hopefully quick question for you guys. Is there an edge sliding tool in Max? When I was playing with modo a while back, I found the edge sliding tool quite useful. If you are unsure what I am talking about, in modo it allows you to slide edges along a surface without losing the shape/topology of the area…
Hi, I'm creating an arm with forearm twists in 3ds max and have come to a bit of a problem. I created a HI Solver from the shoulder to the wrist and as I move the solver, the forearm bends in a way that I would prefer it not to (even though it's suppose to do that...). Is there a way that I can prevent the forearm from…
I dont know this to my shame! I had a max file corrupt and had to import it back in from unreal, unfortunatly its triangulated! Is ther any way of selecting two tris in max and forcing them to become a quad? Should be aesy right? Cheers, nick!
3DS Max 2012 student version, went Customize > Custom User Interface > Assigned some keys that were like Ctrl + H, Ctrl + J etc. However every time I save them and load them by clicking those two buttons, they don't apply. I even saved my scene and restarted Max and still didn't have the shortcuts made. What is the problem?
sorry dunno then... oh well :( ( your first normal map is the same as mine so it must be differences in Max and Maya (tangents and binomals) or the shader used)
I'm using Max 9 64bit. I'm curious if there's a method out there that will render every-other frame in a given range. Say for example I have an animation that lasts 64 frames. I want to render out 32 frames as an image sequence, keeping the same time. So basially it would: render frame 1 skip frame 2 render frame 3 skip…
Hey all polycounters! I have a really weird problem in my viewport in 3ds Max. When I zoom or pan it zooms really in too big increments and when I pan it pans too big or too fast. I've tried googling and it said there that you should use z to reset the viewport or something and i tried it, but to no avail. Here is a video…
I've written a tiny tiny script to aid my OCD when modeling in 3ds max. I prefer black wireframes on a default gray material. The script currently handles everything, just install it and start modelling. I'm hoping to just get some feedback / testing done. The goal in the future is to allow the end user to choose which…
So I've been searching the internet and i cant seem to figure out how to reset max 2010 to factory preferences. I know about the reset button in the main menu but I'm looking to reset everything all setting to default in max 2010. Any idea about how i can do this would be great! Thanks.
Hello. So I've encountered a bit of a problem here with max. Never had it before. I'm modeling this bike and the viewport keeps showing me these wireframe ghosts of Christmas past. I attached a screenshot of what I'm talking about. I am running 3Ds Max 2012. Viewport is set on Nitrous driver. Any help would be appreciated
