Does anyone know if there's a way to accomplish a mirroring preview like in 3DS MAX in MAYA? I am accustomed to having a symmetry modifier on geometry while I work in MAX so I can see how the shape is forming in real-time. However, being new to MAYA, I am not seeing a similar function. Well maya is making empty uvsets cause you told it to :D If you setAttr on a non-existent uvset, it just makes a new one. Setattr a MEL command that is used to make or edit various objects in maya. Not sure how maya knows but I think it also stores the history somewhere. havent looked too much into the ascii files.
There's a feature in Maya that I miss in Max. Locking polygons, or Feeze, in place as you work on other portions of the model. Does Maya have a freeze option in it?
Looks really nice. Only crit I have is the leather gun holster seems a bit shiny, compared to the boots and the belt. Not reading so much as leather. Maybe give it more variation in the roughness texture?
