I have a rather unique situation: I've been using Blender for a while, but I recently started a trial for 3ds Max. It looks like it works much better than Blender, but the problem is that I'm used to how Blender works, which makes it very hard to switch software. From what I've mostly seen in Blender, I find it very hard…
Hello all, I've been stuck on this for a while and would appreciate any help. In Maya I have a mesh where I mirrored the top half of the geo, which also mirrored and stacked the uvs. I did this to increase texel density. I then exported as a .fbx file and made sure to export smoothing groups but not tangents and binormals.…

I just updated MagicPicker, my popular professional color wheel for Photoshop (since year 2008!) The main new feature in MagicPicker 7.1 is the new HUD display, shown in the image below. It contains all of the plugin’s controls, and pops up anywhere on screen beneath the cursor. Also this Color Picker can ‘stick’ to your…

My plan was to create one complete rig and duplicate that as a backup, so I can work on finetuning the other. And later also create several copies of the same skinned & posed rig in a scene. But whenever I copy the rig I have so…
Hey guys :) I was experimenting with nCloth in Maya because I want to make the tube react naturally to the movements of the two cubes. However, the other end of the tube (ending in the smaller cube) does not stick to the surface of the cube. Do you guys know what settings I need to use in order to make the tube stick to…
I agree it would be nice to organize our sticky threads (read: important information we think people should know about on a per-forum basis), but sticking it over on the left like that isn't it. That looks like a shoehorned solution ;)
Hmm, I agree with Alex3d on stacking some of them UVs. Your packing and sizing could use some work, the tiny little barrel you've got takes up nearly as much on the UV sheet as the body of the gun. In all honesty, for a texturing exercise I would have stuck with the stock Uzi your instructor gave you, there's a lot more…
