There is the current stage of the scene. At first, I created MM for ID masking and Vertex Paint, but then I learned that I can't use Vertex Paint for nanites :( After hard thinking, I decided to take good textures for wood walls from textures.com and modify them for my wall needs. As they should not be damaged too old they…
All UV border edges = split vertex tangents along the border. Not vertex normals. They are different things. However since a vertex can only have one set of information, it must split the vertex, even if the normals for both vertices are identical - if the tangent is different, you need a new vertex.
Hi :) I wrote a simple maxscript to animate Vertex Colors in 3dsmax. What it does is : copy color, illumination and alpha vertex channels to different frames, making a vertex color animation :) Now that it is working, I added a progress bar to let the user know 3ds is actually doing something. I did this also to allow…
I know vertex color were quite useful for adding details and variance to textures in the ps2, gx,xbox era but I wonderred if it was still relevant today. The amount of polygons on models have increased so I s'pose the vertex color details have increased as well, right? Any useful tutorials on how to master vertex painting?…
Hi Polycounters, I'm having an issue rendering vertex color information in 3DS Max. The texture and vertex colors show after enabling the 'vertex color' & 'shaded' option in object properties inside the viewport, but it doesn't render. In my understanding it has something to do with the material. I've tried both the 'Mix'…
Hello everyone! I am trying to create a script that read all vertex color of a mesh, split the colors in RGBA and then create for each color a "Vertex Paint" modifier which i could modify the specific color. upload the code and a little example: Thanks again for all guys! Cheers!
