Can anyone here explain Squirrely Jones's method of baking fur to diffuse? You can see what I'm talking about here. Scroll down to his bottom images. I've setup my fur and I understand the whole RTT panel. So don't need explanation for this. I've just never tried baking in fur. Or maybe its a different method? Cheers,…
I'd like to know the right way to get rounded edges on my lowpoly asset through the baking of my highpoly in Substance Painter. This is what it looks baked, not good.
Ey Polycount, I've been having a problem with baking fibermesh to a Low-Poly mesh with Xnormal or Maya. I get a really harsh gradient from pink to blue. And it seems the problem is the High-Polys smoothing groups and I can't seem to fix those in Maya by making the edges soft or hard or unlocking them. As you can see in the…
Hi everyone! I'm working on this game asset and having issues with baking. I'm also using Marmoset Toolbag 4.02. As you can see in the picture, there are triangles that are showing up after I bake. I exported from 3DsMax and made sure to triangulate the model so that the triangles wouldn't switch between programs. I can't…
I'm getting a weird vertex color bug in Maya - the bakes with Turtle only show splotches of color on a mostly black surface after the bake. It was working fine for a while, I must have messed up a setting. I've attached a before and after with screenshots. Any ideas?
I'm trying to finish a few bakes of my model and cant for the life of my figure out what the issue is. I've played around with the ray distance and I basically cant get rid of the error that you can see in the pictures. My low poly model is very close to the high so I dont see an issue but it wont bake that small bottom…
I've been building a wrapper around the Arnold RTT tools so they aren't shit but I'm struggling a bit with normals. I'm not very familiar with Arnold so may be missing something but I don't seem to be able to bake normals into the tangent space of my target bake mesh. The aiUtility node gives me world space normals which…
I really dislike the baking system in Max, I tend to do most of my baking in Maya or xnormal. Just a personal preference though, but give baking a try in Maya it just has less hassle to it.
Hello everyone!!Let me introduce you to my new project: it involves recreating this concept of a piano combined with an organ.Over the past few weeks, I’ve done the blocking, mid-poly, high-poly and low-poly modelling, as well as the UV mapping and bake tests.I hope you like it!
I'm having some issues with a bake of mine. When i bake a helix on my tube i get this strange bump information. I'm really stuck as to what could cause this issue and any help would be appreciated. I have uploaded some images of the weird bump, the tube inside the helix in max and the tube itself to show there isn't…
