Hey there, I have reached a point in my Zbrush path where I want to start incorporating hard surfaces. I have seen a few tutorials on youtube of varying quality showing people making helmets and other hard surface objects on Zbrush. I'm wondering what your opinions on the matter is. I have some experience on Blender and I…
Looking for extra-hard charcoal pencils. Anyone have a favorite they like? I used to love General's 2H, but they discontinued making them. I found a box of 2Hs on an art store site. But they're not as hard as I remember. More like HB. The bits in my sketchbook thread are all done with the older 2H, which seemed to be…
Looks cool might grab the free version and give it a whirl., maybe report back with some thoughts. Edit: Stylized stuff has peeked my interest lately and for the sake of clarity I'm a subd heathen, mechanical hard surface modeler so may come up with a few doozies possibly not thought of :#
It's a bit confusing, are you making this in zbrush or normal modelling? The first screenshot says zbrush, but the wireframe in the second says just normal modelling. It's also a bit unclear what parts are just lowpoly/base and what parts are already (turbo) smoothed, but overall the edge widths seem nonexistant. (and it's…
Am I missing something in Maya? I model in polygons and use edge loops to define my hard edges. Then do a smooth to get that sub-d appearance. Whenever I select my hard edges in Maya and preform a Bevel on it, it completely messes up my edge flow and gives me N-gons everywhere. But I also must ask, If you are putting a…
We are in the late stage of developing Second Hand: Frankie's Revenge (Steam Page) and we have a backlog of 3D assets that need to be created. I'm looking for a 3D artist to model and texture these pieces following our existing art style and the concepts that will be provided. See renders of some existing items at the end.…
In blender when baking with a multiresolution modifier from this highpoly: The baked normal-map on the low-poly looks like this when using "Bake from multires": These are the UV seams: I thought it had to do with UV seams first, but it's unable to bake round edges anywhere at all, anywhere on the model. I noticed that…
A few points to understand : • Some baking environments split the projected rays according to the hard edges of the lowpoly model. This can be useful in some cases, but probably not what you need here. Test this out with a very simple model to be 100% certain of what Painter does when baking. • "The low-poly model has…
Will I be able to complete? Only time and hard work will tell. Wake up-> sit-> model-> repeat. Add-ons being used: - Hard Ops - Boxcutter - Mesh machine - Decal machine Challenge is to keep 1 model per day - one to three hours of modeling- 7 days a week. I will watch videos from dudes at Youtube that i follow such as (926)…
