Hey guys, I've started my first UDK project - a near future vaguely sci fi city environment. This concept is a paintover of a quick 3d blockout from max. I've now started blocking some stuff out in UDK with a couple of temp textures and a temp skydome. Textures will be diffuse and emissive only. Hopefully sort of painterly…
Hi I am using the UDK remote app. Purchased from appstore. My wish is to have my grahpics on the iphone from UDK. Not for selling or making a profit but just so i can see how it looks. One alternative is to just have the UDK remote control what i see on the PC. I have managed to get UE Frontend to find my Iphone 4. However…

In this video we'll take an advanced look at UDK's mesh painting…

Greetings, I am using Substance painter to texture my models, well at least trying to do that. Recently I found out that using substance designer and publishing those files, I can tweak materials ingame. Altough I got all the files in UDK and it seems to work fine, I have nothing to tweak whilst substance is opened in UDK.…
For the scene issue, you need to have your package loaded/open before you load your scene. So use your Generic Browser to load the package (.UPK) then open your Scene (.UDK). UDK has this nasty habit where it will open stuff based upon alphabetical order and load the stuff like that. Unless I misunderstood, that's usually…
Hey, So I have finally decided to make an Environment art demoreel for school. And I am deciding where to get it rendered. I've used UE3 for a short while, so I know my way around it. But everything about UDK seems absolutely awesome. I would definitely prefer to render in UDK rather than in Max thanks to lightmass, right?…
Hello everyone. This is my first thread in polycount (yay! :) ) and my first personal environment in UDK. I decided to build a data room after being inspired by a concept art done by Aaron Foster. Main purpose of this project is to learn about assets modularity, materials setup and lighting in UDK. Here's what I have so…
*NEWEST UPDATE* I'm looking to learn as much about UDK as possible, so I'm working on an environment concept by James Chung. With this concept, I am looking to improve what I know about material definition, UDK's material editor, UDK's lighting (basically new at it), and use of decals to break up repeating elements. I'm…
