Continuing along the road of making Hand Painted Assets I was making a mana Potion and got to texturing and ran into 2 options 1. Use Geometry and 16 Bit Alphas for depth inside the bottle 2. Just Paint like normal (No Depth inside Bottle) Opinions & Critiques on Option 1 or 2 would be really appreciated Here's where it…

Hey all. Despite what the thread title may lead you to believe, I don't want to paint any of my jeans, but I would like to know if there's any proven ways to do so digitally. I'm working on a character who is wearing jeans and I've always wondered how people manage such awesome looking results. Examples of what I mean:…
Hello. I want to paint a tiling alpha along a curve. I know there is a nice feature in ZBrush called "Roll" that does this task nicely. Here is a video of this feature in action, right after 5:55 time mark: https://youtu.be/CCuN6xT50lo?t=357 Is there anytexture painting software that have similar feature, that would allow…
@Wardana Frist of all great progress! You did some solid work there. I think you are onto something with posting the version without ivy. It looks better lack of noise on it creates a focal point that your eye can be drawn to. We are always drawn to contrasts. Not just in light but also in frequency of detail. So you also…
Hello, So I am texturing a vehicle with DDO, I am running into the issue of when I want to paint on small details my paint is spilling to other parts of the mesh as most of it is part of the same color ID. Its managed to get in spots I can't even erase in the 3D viewer, and when I erase them on my texture sheet just on the…
Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback, really appreciate it. Good point about the overuse of grunge - I agree it can read too uniform and artificial, especially on the materials and wear patterns. I’ll definitely revisit this approach in future works and try to push more material separation and story-driven wear. Also…
Decided to try my hand at hand painted textures. Did a fair bit of real painting before 3D but never tried it before. The textures are kinda inconsistent as I got better as I went, first was the dagger, then the table and the floor was the last piece. Didnt want to model anything to fancy as the focus was the textures.…
I still use photoshop, but I also like sketching in Paint. I'm aware how other digital art programs are superior to it, but I like Paint boots instantly. I also like using the 1 pixel pencil and its "natural aliasing" it produces. Having no layers also challenges me to be more resourceful.
I want to make every spline point in the blueprint be able to rotate on its axis. In this way, I will be able to blend the path better to the landscape. I want it to be able to rotate to the sides on the axis it's going forward on. I know that you have to array the points and then you can rotate them but I have no clue…
