feathering decals
I'm working with decals in UDK and sometimes my default alpha doesn't do as good a job of removing all the artifacts. Decals in Max
Ok this is a silly question but what is the equivalent of decals in non-realtime rendering? Like if I was going to do blood splatter or a stain on a stairway in UE3 I would just create a decal actor and project it onto the stairs. This is often an issue, and I'm no expert on the matter but you could try looking into edge padding your decals in photoshop. People talk about Xnormal having an edge dilation feature in photoshop which might be worth looking in to if you've got that installed, there's also "solidify" from here:… -

Decal material wont update?
I cant seem to get the decal to actually update and work. I haven't found much information on troubleshooting this and all the information has said to change the material domain to deffered decal which I did. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
