Thanks @RN - well pointed out on the shadows, to be honest, I did not pay too much attention to them, but it's a very pertinent detail to them. I was just focusing more on color and light. You're also right about the gummy bear, I noticed it's shadow error shortly after I closed the homework and posted it here. I've fixed…
Hello polycounters! My wife is now on her first year studying 3D Environment Art at local university. The teacher says they have to straighten every piece of UV to prevent edge bleeding. Is it the right way? I doubt you can flatten a sphere or something curvy in a flat square without a visible distortion but I may be…
I have been out of the engine loop for too long. I'm working on designing a house that I want to explore from the inside and get a good idea for how it will look both inside and out during the various lighting changes from day to night. I would like an engine that ideally can: * Built in day/night cycles that affect…
I think you guys might be getting a little carried away with the color. I guess it depends on the intent of the scene. As a game environement the original reads much better and looks much more believable as a "real world" environment. But if you were doing a level for the "speed racer" video game based on the movie, sure,…
I think it needs more fog. Something that would sell it too, I think, would be the adding of a dominant directional light (night time one) over the top right of the church. A bright moon in that large gap with the moon light hitting the church in a sweet way would totally improve it IMO
Hi NAIMA, The non-detail shot of the grass looks pretty good to me, better than any grass I've ever made (I'm not a grass expert either). The only problem I see right now is the repeating dots. I think the saturation of grass (or any texture) is really a property of light in the natural world, so if your scene is lit like…
When I try to render an AO for my model, the AO comes out as if it did an auto unwrap and doesn't use the unwrap I did. Any ideas as to what is causing this? When I click render "Automatic Flatten UV's" pops up in the modifier panel. Edit: Never mind, the channel wasn't right on the render :poly117:, and auto unwrap was…
Well, with the painting you'll need to change up your contrast zones. If you want her to be the center of attention, then I'd suggesting an additional light source highlighting the other side of her body. I'd also suggest making the composition bigger; maybe adding more space on the left side of the canvas to show what…
Hey Rogelio! Been a long time away from critique, and lighting in general, so I'm gonna dip my toes in gently. Now, let's get one thing straight - I love black! Contrast is rad, but there's a bit too much here. I think before you start working with practical sources, it might be to your benefit to establish your…
Hey, I am trying to make a handheld game console using raspberry pi 4 and I've done the software and hardware part (a lot of soldering and sweat) and now I am stuck on 3D printing my case. I found this case right here that I like: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2248709 , the only problem is that I am using a more…
