I'm thinking a nice rope hanging down this to the first brick platform? More vine, leaf and twig variation? Is it too bright? Should there be a wet grungy version of the brick texture vertex painted in certain spots to break up the brick? Starting to fill in the room more. Thoughts and suggestions are very much welcome.
Looking mighty fine sir, On your brick tiling texture the top three rows are picture perfect. The forth row (Large bricks at the base of the tower.) The highlight/specular have very noticeable paint brush strokes. Which makes it look different compared to the top rows. The biggest thing that catches my eye is the two large…
Hey i need crits on my bricks n stone walls- Im probably going to change all of the colors and remake the details and try to build some castles using castles from ireland as ref http://konjosworld.wordpress.com/
IMO i think youre pushing the bricks up and down too much in your height map. a brick floor this precisely laid out wouldnt have bricks that stick out more or less than the other bricks so much, people would trip on it and would be weird etc. i mean if you are just doing this as an exercise and just wanna test it out with…
I would go with bad spleen's method as my first choice. If you need to have a primitive that is in that shape and the bricks are not a focal point you could also take that rectangle and uv it and then texture a black and white brick pattern to it in your modeling app. Bring it into Zbrush use the texture as a mask and…
I think the bricks in the back could be brightened up without messing up the scene. On my monitor it looks like mostly a void with some brick-like highlights. At least let the wall catch some of the light from the candle, if you don't make it lighter. I'm not sure why it's not already, I see a tiny bit of the candle light…
Inspiring work! Would you mind posting some of the albedos? I'd love to examine how color is being applied as you're constructing the nodes. Also, I noticed the linear scrape pattern on the bricks. The visibility is varied per brick, but the interesting thing is that the pattern is aligned with the brick rotation. What…
I hate that brick texture. It just looks like random pixel garbage in that night light, like the bricks are sharp and shiny as hell. It's the normal map doing this I think.
cheers man :) so with the textures i shouldnt have like half bricks or what not on the edges but rather the edge of a full brick? kind of like the left side of the stone texture?
