In this day an age of sculpting programs like zbrush and muddbox I feel the need for tradiational sculpting methods is higher. Actually I always felt that sculpting was always much more relevant to the 3d modeling part than drawing anyway. So, two books by sculptor Bruno Lucchesi, that are awesome when it comes to human…
I'm not trying to learn about myself, i'm trying to learn to be an illustrator -- which is a profession, which requires certain skills. Obviously i practice hours daily, i want to be an artist. This thread is about seeking out knowledge, not art for therapy. The whole practice vs study overall thing is an interesting topic…
That is a very extreme closeup. You'll probably find seams on any mesh if you're going that close. Regarding UVs: it's good practice to leave room for padding along the edge of the uv border, doubly so if you're using udims.
Hi, I am practicing modelling/baking and I've been having this question that I cannot really find an answer. Is there any way that I can bake a single low poly from a high poly with multiple parts? I've done baking 'bake by name' in substance painter. But as I'm constructing quite a large space this time, I wanted to…

When I first started learning 3D art, I tasked myself with making a simple scene of a tree a top a hill. I actually managed to find a screenshot of that scene that I sent to my friend (the 2nd screenshot below). I didn't know how to render out screens at the time, so I just screenshotted the viewport (lol). For the sake of…
Hello, After years of loves for video games and arts, I finally decide to start my future path in 3D modelling. I just started courses online and practicing with Blender but my ultimate goal since I'm a child is to work at Blizzard in World of Warcraft.
