We'll start by just drawing a piece everyday, and it can be digital or traditional. Then we'll start to work in some sweet themes to challenge ourselfs! ex. robots, chicks etc.

There's been too much work to post, so here's some recent stuff
Keeping my fingers crossed Allan!
Day 78 2015:
I started doing some head sketches:
I always sucked at doing any type of simplified line art or heavy stylization so I'm trying to explore this area.
Need to polish up the composition (and polish more), but il do that at a later date.
Raptors:
I drew some happy faces.
Yeah love to draw undeads/mutants whatevs tough, they are just fun ^^
Day 80 2015:
Made some studies from photos I took while visiting Lisboa. It's a really nice city.
turned the gogo sketch into something more illustrative
process: https://new.livestream.com/accounts/5851766/events/3914562
updated with some lighting changes.
Wizo, I'm not sure where the main lightsource for this one is, but I think the character is interesting. Maybe playing with some close relatives to the color scheme you have, like cyan, magenta, and ocre could spice it up a bit.
Gnashed! HOLY PISS DUDE! These are fantastic!
Painting more rocks, working from b/w sketch to color detailing. It's a pretty quick workflow, and its still really relaxing.
I feel the exact same way.
ErikNilsson The color scheme in the dinosaurs is simply great.
Gnashed Very photographic without going to far with detail. I specially like the second with the boats.
wizo the concept is definitely interesting, but I think you could benefit from some studies from real clothes and how light affect them.
Makkon I love your strokes and stroke economy in those monsters. Nice rocks, dude. Maybe you could use some blue reflected light from the bottom to enhance your stylized style. PS: I always feel so jealous when artists claim to be relaxed when painting. I put the "pain" in painting.
More studies (they are definitely helping a lot)
And this is something I did after getting more confident with the way I render things. I'm starting to like how I build things with color, but at the same time I want to achieve a style in which everything is well constructed (not fuzzy or sloppy) but not "muddy" or "overdone".
Do you guys feel the composition is working ? I feel like the robot and the piano are not visible enough.. Please feel free to paint over if you have any ideas! Thank you in advance to anyone who might help
Wizo - Nice! Maybe get some more contrast in there? I like the soft feel tough!
samsam - I agree with Xelioth, think about how to pull in the viewer. Overall the composition works I think.
For example, you could dim the light a bit, make the robot darker - but with a nice rim light + making his eye a warm "warning color" like orange, or maybe a teal/light blue since it would contrast good with the warm envireonment.
Humans like contast, use it.
You could ofc also just change where the light is and make it spill only on the robot.
Sorry for the slow upload rate, whenever I do some tradtional stuff it blocks everything from comming up until I can actually take a photo and upload it. Hopefully il get back to uploading (more) on a daily basis from now on.
Day 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100. 2015:
Altough mostly through 30 min lunch paintings, but oh well
Did you eat my lunch?
haha 30 min food 30 min art, I eat fast ^^
Day 102 2015
This one reminds me of Stimpy if he was a complete bad ass. awesome work.
Erik, I know these a very fast loose sketches, so just a suggestion, maybe next time you try translucent skin you could add a hint of things underneath to really sell it. Still, cool stuff ^^.
haha the lunch thing was actually just a tagline for the image but good to know xD (sorry it was my bad editing haha)
Or add a big ass bird following him!
Daew, Cheers man! If I do more Il go for some nice subsurface scattering for sure! ^^
Day 103 2015:
Environment sketch done over a couple of breaks
Daew: Thanks man! I really like the color palette you are using, toned down without looking washed out!
mariomanzanares: Thanks! That's probably my favourite too Your studies are looking great, especially like the one with the guy standing on a snowy hill.
As always, really inspiring to visit this thread! Keep 'em coming Erik, you're doing great progress!
Quick robot sketch I made today. ^^
Really dig the robot! Good pose!
Swidj: Thanks dude!
Day 105 and 106 2015:
Dont have the energy to finish this one, atleast the right side had good contrast:
Im trying to teach myself how to do environment type designs and attempted to draw a house. I planned out a backstory behind the person who lives there but it feels incredibly boring and bland- partly due to the shapes used, but i feel mainly because it lacks detail that tells story and I kinda realized I dont have any experience with environment pieces and dont really know any resources outside of google.
I was wondering if someone could help me by telling me how they find their inspiration for these environment pieces, because often I feel like my ideas are not things that I know how to search for inspiration for design details- and often I dont feel like they pull heavily from any already existing cultures or designs that im familiar with. Hopefully my predicament makes sense, its mainly just beginner problems due to lack of resources!
