Aww that sucks! you should have gone to the computergame grafics program here in skövde instead so we could meetup ^^
Anyway congratulations! ^^
and welcome back! felt kinda forever alone in here for a while ^^
day 79 a 1 hour speedpaint from ref and practicing some lips
Really nice stuff Twoflower! Seems like you are the only one keeping up
Day 26-30
This one is only half-finished, but I somehow don't like it any more :-/
Some glowing/highly lit shape studies:
Helmet sketches for a personal project (they are numbered in the order I drew them, I'm drawing from right to left to avoid smearing stuff with my left hand)
Polished up one of the thumbnails I had
More comments on your work to come, but I'm just trying to dump these up here quickly before going to bed
Nice stuff guys! All of ya! Been really busy with other stuff this week but I have done a few doodles, just haven't had the time to upload them til now.
Done, don't like how it turned out but its time to move on :P
(A more dramatic scene might have done the trick. The characters in the background works much better)
his axe thingey looks crap and overall it feels unfinished, but whatever. The concepts are way cooler ^^
Aleon: i hope you finish the sci-fi city because it looks really great, how you manage the building to the left to look so incredible big is really cool. Think the darkest on parts on the trees are abit too dark but dig the colors of the piece ^^
Followed any tuts for those nice studies?
aiconx: the first thing i thought when i saw the old man was Pettson :P
Erik: that four legged mech in day 164 looks really cool especially the rendering of the fron window thing. Think the gun could have used abit more details but the lover part of the mech is really cool
day 80 2-4-8 min on each face, will hopefully continue to do more of these quick face becuase really need to improve them, they look horrible.
Theme: Paint an imaginary creature based on one of these names:
Spotted Swordfin.
Quillbranch.
Bluehaired Vetrus. (Vetrus is just a name that I made upp)
Lumen ceraula. (Its latine, try google translate, think of it as a treasure hunt xP)
The creature can be an alien from another world or maybe a legendary magical creature in a fantasy setting.
The important thing is that its an animal, not a "sentinel being" like a human.
Style: I would like to see you all do a thumbnail/siluette page first. Also, a small thumbnail in the corner of the final presentation would be nice, and keep the background simpel if you have one. I would also advice you all to look up some animals on google while you work, or download a few pictures and create something like a moodboard as reference.
anyway done some pencil drawing today but don't have a camera or scanner so i can show them : ( but i do have a texture i did today so atleast i have something to show : )
Just some quick doodles today, been cleaning and packing stuff for when I move to my new apartment, so haven't had much time for drawing. Will hopfully upload much more stuff tomorrow!
Nice stuff guys! Those creatures rock Erik. I like 2, 3 and 5 the most but all of them are great. Hard to choose
Great studies as usual aiconix. And your left hand sketches have a really nice dynamic to them. I Love it. Just like Cast's colors on that bird.
Great mood on the last to pics Twoflower. Nice atmosphere too. Your water however is off-perspective on the second picture. You could also try adding the crack in a way it follows the bricks to a degree. Right now it looks unrealistic (look at some ref). Otherwise good work, your perspective has improved a lot recently. Keep it up!
Day 31-33 AKA Being extremely unmotivated
As I didn't feel too motivated in the last few days I got into modelling and fiddled around with pencil because I feel more comfortable with it.
Almost done with the high-poly of the camera:
This happens when I don't feel like drawing yet I open PS
Aleon: Not used to use textures in my painting so didnt think about it at the time but now that you pointed it out i looks really wierd that the crack isnt following the brick structure. Yeah should totally look more at refs when painting.
Unmotivation suck.. just try to look around at stuff ad hopefully you'll find something that inspire you ^^
like the presentation and the third sketch feels most interesting to me because it feel like it has a backstory.
hey welcome back kine! Think you nailed the proportions on the chick. best drawing so far imo! improvement ftw ^^
trying to really improve my 2d skills so decided to go back to the basics and do brush stroke practice along with light studies ect gonna be a long road ahead but should pay off (my own fault for not keeping up with my 2d)
Yesterday I was in Malmö doing croquis, havent have time to scan yet (and sort my pictures) so will upload that tomorrow along with the concept I did today and will do tomorrow :P
Great stuff as always guys! @aiconx: Love both of the pictures. You got a nice feel of those colors, and your human drawings look great!
Day 34-36 Back to drawing, yay! I made some thumbnails over the last few days. I also started making some textures but they turned out so bad I won't even show them
I want to finish no3 and maybe 4 in big for sure. Not quite confident about the first two.
Aleon: Think 3 and 4 are the most interesting. But if you reposition the globe thingy from the right side to the left and have the light that come in from the window fall upon it i think it could make for a really cool image
I never finished mass effect 3 even though i really liked the game . I landed on earth and got to some kind of checkpoint at a quickly established alliance base and logged of there and forgot about the game. Probably because i herd that the ending was horrible :P
day 86 The color balance adjustment in photoshop is awesome.
What's up guys! I just went through this whole thread. Lots of great stuff! Good work to you guys who have been doing this for a long time! I am a 3d Modeler and sculpter, but love 2d and am working on improving as well. So I have kind of been doing this as well over the last couple months on my own. I've mainly been doing sketching in my sketchbook but a few paints as well. I'll try to start getting my stuff up here as regularly as possible. I'm in the middle of a move to Canada from TX for work, so we'll see how that goes.
Nice composition and perspective of your pictures, I especially like the rendering of the lower one. The character looks a bit flat though and maybe his pose could be a bit more interesting. Still, good work, the light works really well
Theme: Paint a scene from the sentence below, with a big focus on a creature in the picture. The creature and the background should be based of a foto/fotos and textures, remember, the creature should be your sellingpoint!
"A nasty encounter"
Style: The important thing here is that you use fotos and textures as a base.
Owl: welcome ^^ the perspective on the second one is cool. Think it could use abit more contrast or some more saturated colors. That axe looks badass ^^
aiconx: i wanna see the outrageous and hilarious research ^^

Back from my vacation, and also I got in to The Game Assembly!
Here's and attempt at this week's challenge and a leftie

Day 161 - 164.
Challenge of the week entry:
Doodles:
Thanks guys!
Nice colours there on the winter pic TF, and I like the shine on the lips. Blending the edges a bit with the skin will make them more realistic
Very interesting structure Aleon
Like that bot erik
Done, don't like how it turned out but its time to move on :P

abit more than 1 hour speedpaint
This week its all about weird creatures guys!

Did a few thumbs of a quillbranch
and a sketch from a ref for my left
Hey Squareko, nice rendering there. like the left one the most but they need more SWORDS!! ^^
day 81 more horrible faces, think i had the timer on 5min each. Really liked this weeks topic could stop drawing Bluehaired Vetruses ^^
I like 20 and 11 TF, some of the others could do with a bit more logic in the limbs. Think about how they would move
Like the one on the right squareko
quick ref thing and then leftie
Also I want to be part of that challenge! I'm going to try getting something done tonight or tomorrow
anyway done some pencil drawing today but don't have a camera or scanner so i can show them : ( but i do have a texture i did today so atleast i have something to show : )
day 82 the uploading service of imgur was down so found a random hosting site but didn't know how to embed the images..

aiconx: Nice portrait and sci-fi marine man! 4, and 5 looks really coolio!
squareko: Hello m8! Nice pics! Like the crazy-swordy one more
Twoflower 2, 8, 19, 21 looks best in my opinion! Nice work! (Cool shark btw)
Cast: Ello again! Nice shading, a bit more contrast maybe? Looking forward to your challenge pic! ;D
Stuff from yesterday - Day 166:
Today - Day 167:
Nice shark TF
I like 5 and 1 erik
trying green colours for a quillbranch and some lefty anatomy practice
Just some quick doodles today, been cleaning and packing stuff for when I move to my new apartment, so haven't had much time for drawing. Will hopfully upload much more stuff tomorrow!
Day 168 - been trying to nail eyes.
day 83

Almost done with the high-poly of the camera:
This happens when I don't feel like drawing yet I open PS
Nice atmosphere in the top one TF
more quillbranch and bodies
Did these two today based on references
Unmotivation suck.. just try to look around at stuff ad hopefully you'll find something that inspire you ^^
like the presentation and the third sketch feels most interesting to me because it feel like it has a backstory.
hey welcome back kine! Think you nailed the proportions on the chick. best drawing so far imo! improvement ftw ^^
day 84
Did more analogue work with pencils today than any digital, but drew this as study. Arino looks unintentionally scary, haha
Twoflower: Cool creature and environments!

I want to finish no3 and maybe 4 in big for sure. Not quite confident about the first two.
thanks aleon! I think no 2 looks pretty interesting actually
Just got through Mass Effect 3 again, so I had to draw something from it
I never finished mass effect 3 even though i really liked the game . I landed on earth and got to some kind of checkpoint at a quickly established alliance base and logged of there and forgot about the game. Probably because i herd that the ending was horrible :P
day 86 The color balance adjustment in photoshop is awesome.
Anyway, nice images guys!
Aleon: Very nice I like them all, probably nr 2 the most.
So im not gonna upload the croquis images from thursday just yet (its late, people are sleeping and my scanner sounds like an airplane)
tommorrow maybe, anyway here is Day 169 - 171 ;D
Day 169:
Day 170:
(Gonna make this into a 3D model later on so I will upload orthos and different color variatons for her clothes)
Day 171:
Looking good guys! Really sweet lighting there TF
Dhilling today. Went out with a .5 mechanical pencil and pocketsized sketchbook. This building turned out pretty nice I think
Here's a couple of my recent works:
Nice composition and perspective of your pictures, I especially like the rendering of the lower one. The character looks a bit flat though and maybe his pose could be a bit more interesting. Still, good work, the light works really well

looking good guys, welcome owl! Really like that bottom one, awesome colours
Cool pose on the spotted swordfin
Owl: welcome ^^ the perspective on the second one is cool. Think it could use abit more contrast or some more saturated colors. That axe looks badass ^^
aiconx: i wanna see the outrageous and hilarious research ^^
87 booring stuff
Any cool ideas for this weeks challenge yet guys?
Day 173, just doodeling stuff.
Erik: Wow, those houses look really, really great! Any tips for a noobie ,)?
Another environment. I need to keep on doing those, need the XP!
Oh, kewl. Yes, will do that!
I was actually pretty careful when I did the perspective, but looking at it again I see what you mean.
Thanks for pointing it out, I'll have to be more careful
