When i model lowpoly stuff i usally dont have a polycount limit i just usally model it in the "resolution" if you may call it so that i think is enugh for that model, think about how close this will be seen and how much.
Well I completed a character. I based this off of a concept of a friend of mine. I include the model both with and without alphas. I was rendering in marmoset and my alphas came out funny so I kinda like the alpha-free version better. Either way I can use some crits on the project. It was mainly experimental to practice modeling cloth and hair as well as to test out new workflows.
this thread is so full of awesome, i am humbled by your guys' talent. Never stop posting!
I went to a figure drawing thing, and it was fun. i started messing with adding/subtracting weight from the model, cuz i get kinda bored with sustained poses.
(Sorry for blinding you all with the white backgrounds :poly122:)
after studying various games model build poses (the poses used when making the character, i dont know if there is a more technical term), i re-posed and changed a lot of geo as the new pose highlighted some issues.
example, with feet pointed straight, i could shape the legs better i think.
i wonder , is there an ideal pose to model in? i copied this pose from a final fantasy character wire image i googled.
dont know how i can push the geo any more, but i posted in my thread an issue i have with the chest area.
Low poly handpainted shield based on sweet concept from a mystery artist. Would love to give them proper credit, but so happens their name isn't on the image.

more looping shit.. running with apple and jumping with apple are the only ones I'm gonna use to begin with rly.. everything else is just for fun
gonna get my girlfriend who is a bit short to act out some dual kinect mocap stuff soon for this guy as well
Are those super symmetrical knee belts actually over her knee's? I think they need to be a tad higher for to actaully be able to bend her legs.
Aside from that, wow awesome!
