Still working on my painting skill set. Took a screen shot from Darksiders 2 to use as reference - I then did up a monochrome version first, and then added my own lighting pass:
ivars: That's looking truly awesome, man! The only thing that looks off a little to me is the back of the knees.. the wrinkles look a little too soft. Nice work though.
TeriyakiStyle: Hot damn!
Final presentation shot:
I've spent enough time on her now.. onto the next character.
Damn ablaine, that's top notch stuff, real killer, looks just like the concept. I know the test was mainly for the armor and the likeness isn't supposed to matter that much but I doubt it won't make an impression.
BelgianBoolean: Looking great! Maybe alittle too marshmallowy looking with almost no sharp edges.
Thanks Wester! Trying to shoot for a really stylized look with no sharp edges. It's a nice change of pace, and it's part of the style guide I slapped together for the project.
Aside from some effects for his special move, I've finished all the modeling and texturing for this guy (aside from getting rid of the seam between his head and neck...). I still have a lot of work to do regarding rigging and posing, but I'm not super worried about that.

Some progress on the 200sx, been testing the car on its lowest iteration of turbosmooth in cryengine to get an idea of what kinda thing i'm going to be trying to achieve with the bake etc. Its been useful to identify some areas that need work as I was struggling to see spots where the car wasn't smoothing properly in max. Also been working on the environment, props etc. Will post a thread for the project as soon as possible.
*Note this isn't going to be the environment it finally ends up in, just a test lighting set up ive got lying around + assets ive been working on for the environment.
Jacque wears his pants a little tight. Just trying to get the feel of the material and how Jacque would wear them. Thats why the creases are back only and symmetrical.
They say that the quality in the WAYWO thread has increased. I didn't believe it at first but damn.. it's gotten even better :O
I made a couple of concept sketches.. I wanted to create a couple of more characters from the same universe as Disney's Robin Hood like I did with my Douglas Archer character;
cg18> Nice attention to detail. I can imagine it taking plenty of time. The plan in the end is to create a game model or leave it at highpoly? Looks great to me. Then again I'm drooling over a new bike for 2013 daily, among them FZ1S/FZ8S.
@kodde, yes, the plan is to create a game asset at the end. Im sorry if the model is not very accurate, as i said before, i have started this bike in 2008 and found it again last month. My references are mixed images of several different yamaha models. Still, my main goal is not do a super accurate reproduction of one bike but to create a game asset that resemble a cool bike. Thank you very much for your comments.
@el scorcho, OMG, impressive. @ravenslayer, nice character, you can feel the attitude on her.
Heres my example of a straight up NDo Experiment, simple low poly model with 2048 map before compression to 1024 in UDK, shown in Marmoset. Was an enjoyable process, although it did drag on once I was sick....
this is my blockout for the cghub bioware challenge! this is also the the mood i will be aiming for in the final image. hope you like. c&c appreciated.
here you get to the thread over at cghub, with some more wips ...
Wauuuu, nice sculpt vickgaza love those monkey with horns!!!A lots of awesome work here, as usual!
Here a scene that I finish! I used udk, photoshop, 3dsmax and zbrush!
80% of the textures are handpainted, but the background
A tree in the middle of a lake in Thailand. A place where monks could meditate, alone. It's a spiritual place who was forgotten and not yet discovered.
I make this scene to improve my skills creating an organic environment. I took the opportunity to practice making tileable textures starting with sculpting them in zbrush.

I love everything about this piece! What engine did you use to build this in? Or do you have a step-by-step on this? It's gorgeous! Great job!
