Progress. The next update will hopefully be the finished one.
Looking really great man! Look forward to the final
Slowly working away on this. Still have to finish roughing out the arms and shin/foot pieces. Then I will try my hand as some high poly sculpting on it.
Damn, I'm going to have to bother fightpunch to let me build out one of his designs sometime. Sweet work man.
I'm working on a hand painted no normal map character, a mystics meets tech type thing. No concept, just letting pixels dictate the direction. I want to do some sort of energy matter swirling "hair" on it.
Got bored and decided to start implementing some of the stuff that was in my highpoly FT but wasn't sure about whether it was worth including in the low (in regards to tri count).
Here's the chain I added:
Was a right bitch to get it visible from all angles properly, not sure it's worth the 1500 tris it added.
nice work man-- I really like this look. just on a personal note- I would probably add a small concentration of colorful objects just to balance out the visual curiousness. it's just personal opinion so don't worry about it- I really like it already ;]
damn always such amazing work around here...
me,i'm still messing with this. mudbox is such a piece of shit after all, keeps crashing while i'm painting textures, and general unpredictable behavior...
Ive been doing a rehaul on the whole 200sx, had alot of good critique and ive pretty much rebuild the topology from the ground up, much happier that this fits with the ref now. Boom, still so much left to do.
WIP of a Yamaha FZ1 wannabe. I took some "poetic licence" on some parts, i have started this model in 2008 and suddenly pop up this month on my hard drive.
no base-mesh, going for all Dynamesh and then re-topo. gonna use this character for an test Unity Game, it's sort of throwaway stuff. Man, everybody's stuff here is insanely badass, gotta get better!
duncan: Great as usual! Only nitpicking... the hairline transition on the forehead looks a bit too crisp to me? Looking forward to seeing her posed and really come to life!
kio: Very cool and interesting!
pasha_sevez: Got some nice shapes going on there, overall looks a tad narrow to me though? Have you got a head inside there to see how it fits?
Fred2303: Yeeaaaah watched that badboy spin in 1080p haha nice work!
Been digging the low poly trend that's been going around for a while now and thought I'd have a quick little go:
I made a draw and I try to make the same character on Zbrush. I begin Zbrush so I hope u will tell me what's wrong, how can I do to have a resemblance ? What can I change or remove ? Thx
A spin of the character I'm working on. Sorry about the bad quality, never made gif before. If it's too heavy to load I'll remove it, don't want it to lessen the experience of this awesome thread.
Its my first post on polycount,I am a bit scared because of the amount of awesomeness that this site is having, but hell, if I dont post,I will never learn ,thats if anybody is willing to give feedback.
A highpoly rendered in mental ray,I know anybody can do a render in max of highpolys,so,I am posting this, with huge humbleness ,until I learn to do some proper lowpolys.

maybe some one has here and there some crits/comments for me.
Pretty much final textures.
Just waiting for me to get off my ass and rig, skin and pose her..... might take a while.....but I am almost 100% sure I will finish it.
till there is more Thanks everyone.... now for some speedy sculpts.
i wrote a little unity script for animating material offset&scale properties.
stuff like linear, sine, custom curve or a simple flipbook.
so i used that to create a little usecase - every motion except the spray particles comes from the script.

Would love to see a game in this style... I wonder whose gonna create it first!
Ged: main problem was to the script updated in edit mode and survive script resets - ah and the custom inspector.
Surely it fits the human head Follow the this link to see the wireframe.

This is going ingame (handhelds) as a weapon aiming "texture", similar to what BF2 has.
jus' chillin
Nb
Lachtan thats a weebit too noisy for me honestly!
Final render for my character. Gonna fix up some more shots of the back, wires and maps, gonna post them in my thread later. Happy with the result.
I'm currently trying out hard-surface modeling in Zbrush, inspired by Mike Jensen's tutorials:
