Thanks skepticalnate -- I agree about the specular and the second highlight in the eyes. Thank you for you input.
Updating a really old model and converting it to realtime -- A bastardization of Kaneda, from Akira. Removing the 80's metal biker from him. Needs kneepads.
That's a really nice piece but the depth of field on the smaller shot made me think that the image hadn't loaded properly. It's not really needed imo, if you want to focus on specific areas having a close up would be better. You're hiding the detail with the blur which is a shame since it looks cool
can't wait for the day tesselation will be common in video games =x
Nice work! I was wondering how you sculpt these guys and get them to tile? I can create tiling textures in ZBrush using sculpted meshes and placing stuff in the canvas-pan with Projection Master, but I've never been able to get a seamless purely sculpted mesh like this.
Ace column/pillar Kbrom12!
I'd put some damage on the tiles as well though, to make the damage look more consistent.
Made some more progress on the mortar after getting some awesome critique the last time i posted:
Hey man, I would but those tiles are going to be a separate tiling material already setup in UDK
I put some placeholder tiles to help it a bit and so there wasn't an empty space.
Love Your texturing on that mortar! Only thing that sticks out to me is the wavy lines of the metal siding that overlap the wood. It may be for decoration but something about it looks a bit odd to my eye. May just be me though :poly142:
@karlWrand -- I like it but it's hard to see what's going on. Grungy prop on a grungy background of the same shade makes things hard to see. Consider something less noisy or with more contrast to present the piece, would bring you a long way.

ehh? Ysalex I believe you have made a mistake, I did not make the Canon. I was just commenting on it...KarlWrang is the one who made the mortar. Go to the previous page to view what I worked on and to see KarlWrang's original post. It even has his name on the images.
Cathedral interior. Sort of inspired by a mix of Gloucester, Maria Laach and Salisbury and then some. Stained glass from Ely. Tapestry from unknown...
Limestone from France
For my never-ending RPG... Can one guy populate nearly the whole UDK grid? We'll find out lol...

@stinger88: Pretty awesome design, still, its a high/ultramegasuper-tech thing, and still it has practical design flaws, I mean, that helmet thingie and her(/its?) back wouldn't go well.
putting together a handful of modular assets for what will probably turn into a scene that's way too big to ever finish. alas - it is my curse. bite off more than you can chew then chew it!
also:fightpunch - sometimes you make me cry inside.
and stinger - what music is that? is it combichrist? and i really liked the way you went about designing that suit.
@vvheris: Thanks, yeah, not very practical at all. But she is a robot inside and out.
@reverendK: Pt1 is Straftanz, pt2 is Mind.in.a.box. Massive fan of Combichrist though, saw them a few months ago. Music for pt3 me thinks ;P Glad you like the workflow. I do, its a lot of fun. Nice wall btw, keep at it!
@Fightpunch: would love to see a video capture of your work. Epic piece!
Making a base mesh from an old Danger Girl ref. Going to take it into Zbrush or Sculptris for my first major character in years.

Sorry about the less than stellar maya screen-grabs, but either way I'd love it if you stopped by my WIP Thread
Cheers!

And also a brick stair thingy for lulz(and practice):

Almost done. A few hours work so far.

Hard to get them even despite building a custom rig.
Why do I love this so much? Romy - I checked your portfolio, it's astounding.

thanks guys !
another map with 2 variations
0_0 so cool :poly136: tile?
Here's some of the textures I've been working on:
Congratulation for this last tileable Map/Mesh.
I like the modularity of those kind of pieces.
I think this is just your best!
xpost from sketch thread. More parts to follow.
