just droppping by to say that your new portfolio looks really sweet!
trying to put together a portfolio for myself atm, having a hard time coming up with a nice logo/header for the site. Liked yours design and you domain name, its easy to remember
A good tip would be to use your name if possible (but still keeping it short)and maybe add in something like: 3D.com (like: ErikN3D.com)if you are a 3D artist, Or maybe 2D.com if you are a 2D artist. Good luck with it! You have really improved since you first started posting here, send me your portfolio when you are done
Hey Erik, I know you're working on dynamic poses, it's something I have to constantly be aware of as well. I went to a Pixar animation masterclass a while back and one of the things that was taught, although might be obvious to some people, was to look at classical painting for dynamic poses. Some of those huge paintings of the gods have some great poses for characters.
Love the neon samurai by the way. You should do a series of them, to show how creative you can be within the lowpoly restraints.
Thanks man, just limit how many different colors (and shades of color) you use, and simplify everything. oversize and simplify stuff, If you paint stitched pants for instace, make sure you have like three big stitches instead of the realistic amount and size. Oh and render with "no lights" in maya.
Really like the mix between the hard laso edges and the textures on the bird person but having abit of truble on deciding if its a girl or a boy. I think its a girl but not 100% sure. Other than that i think it's a great image and the beak looks awesome!
