Again I really dont know who this artist is, I tought it was Zedig at first but I cant find it on his site. If anyone knows who the original artist is let me know!
Anyway great study, lots of fun brushwork and stuff to learn from it.
Love that creature! All your sketches are amazing! Being that you've got so much work posted they must have been taking awhile to load, and I must have been looking at earlier posts when I replied the first time... all good now... keep them coming...really great stuff!
Haha all cool man, yeah theres a big load of them, and most of the old ones are png
And thanks!
Heres Day 06 John singer sargent Study. Changed a few things tough just for fun, but kinda regret not staying true to the original now, oh well, the important part is the background. Think I could have done a better jobb all around but im le tired so F-it! Had fun with it alteast, and learnt a few things!
Working all day making art and then spending another hour painting studies at night is draining me. Currently taking a break and playing Destiny SRL until I find my art mojo again
Alright Im calling this, right now im just rushing things and not really learning anything from it. Work is stressing me out and just knowing that I have to paint another study is currently sucking all the joy out of painting for me. I put together a short text about what I figured out from doing this challenge below, maybe it will be useful to someone:
Lesson for the future: Find your own pace for doing studies and art, sometimes its good to be diciplined, but forcing yourself to cram in painting in your life for 21 days straight is not always gonna work out well (atleast for me who already works with art for 8 hours a day). This is obviously very individual but I think that this challenge has taught me that I work best under short sprints rather than marathons. Instead of 21 days maybe next time Il do 3 days of intense focus on a specific subject. I do think that you learn more when your having fun, forcing it will only cripple you. Art is just like physical training, you need some downtime to rest up, recharge and really take in what you have just learned, how much or how long might be different for different people but its def good to get some R&R. Remember even when you are not painting you are learning, giving your brain some time to mull over and to find a place for all that new information is not a bad thing.
Yeah so I think taking a break from painting over the holidays will be a good way to charge my batteries, playing some games, maybe just sketching casually.
Below is the last two study-thumbnails I did: Stanhope Alexander Forbes and Syd Mead. Il get back to painting some new stuff 2017, when I feel like it. Til then happy holidays everyone!
These are some nice studies man! About the over training, I totally agree with you. I find myself forcing month long art marathons but eventually end up feeling exhausted. There is a balance in there where you are pushing yourself beyond what is comfortable but also still enjoying it. Anyways great work man keep it up!
Digging this one! The forms on the mech are nice.. i was thinking that the white within the mech would pop nicely if you muted the white in the background a bit, maybe made it slightly greyer in the BG to push the mech forward. Cool stuff, man! Keep them coming

All the recent ones should be JPEG at around 800 px

Been a bit behind, trying to catch up this weekend, Day 08, 09, 10.
Original 08 and 09 from the great and mighty Paul Lasaine!
And 10 from the amazing Pavel Elagin.
10 was a bit rushed, but the sheer amount of details overwhelmed me, It was a fun pic tough, learnt a lot from it.
These last three pics have been great for hamering out workflow stuff.
08 - Paul Lasaine

I feel like I did the eyes to contrasty and big - Il try simplifying next time.
The eyes feel a bit better But I got the overall values to dark. Next time!
