you just know the villains , you dont know nothing about the movie yet . Everyone was also "oh wtf is nolan thinking , casting Ledger as joker wtf!!" then BAM.
Article makes great sense. After both Batman movies and Inception I think people need to just shut up when Nolan makes a decision because the man is a fucking pro. He knows what he is doing.
just saw hardy in Bronson, if he bulks up like that or bigger and they play the whole cunning element of bane in the comics it could be awesome. I'm pretty sure nolan knows what he is doing with his batman universe at this point, I expect it to be fuckin' cool.
I was impressed with what Nolan did with the story in Batman Begins. I was equally pleased with how he handled Dark Knight. I have no issue with the villains he's chosen to headline the next iteration of the franchise. In fact, I probably won't be worried at all as long as this list remains just Catwoman and Bane. Nolan has proven quite conclusively that he can handle Batman films with more than one villain. And this particular selection only includes one real threat. Catwoman is more love interest than villain. I hardly think Nolan's Batman is going to feel threatened by an attractive thief.

Yeah, I saw him in Bronson as well not long ago. Great movie, I strongly recommend people check it out. I wasn't aware of the actual person in England, so I don't know if it's accurate or not, but I trust that it is.
And yeah, watching him in Bronson makes you feel like he'd be great for his role in Batman.
Bane is supposed to be Bruce Wayne's mirror. Equally intelligent, equally gifted in Martial Arts, equally educated, spending his childhood in the confines of a prison similar to Oz.
If they continue with that trend (as I assume Nolan will), then it should make for a very interesting counterpoint to Batman.
I still can't believe Bane was a mindless henchman in that Schumacher travesty.
When you think about it, the choice of Bane makes sense given how Nolan has handled the villain's motivations and objectives. Raz Al Ghoul was a fanatical idealist who wanted to raze Gotham city to the ground, so that it could be rebuilt in a more suitable form. The Joker was an anarchist who wanted to prove that the rest of humanity was just as depraved as he was.
In the comics, Bane has always been focused on control. He isn't interested in destruction, but rather wants to rule and dominate. Such an agenda would be quite different from what the character of Batman faced in either of the previous films.
There's also the fact that the character of Bane centers around substance abuse. Given the scandals that have rocked professional sports in recent years, this would be a topical theme to explore in the film.
Also, how the hell does christian bale deal with his constant weight changes, he went all the machinist when I saw in the trailer for the movie "the fighter"
And Picard. Let's not forget that he was Jean Luc Picard too.
Please don't remind me of Star Trek: Nemesis. I think its better if we all just forget that it ever happened. I'm sure that Tom Hardy would probably appreciate it if we forgot it as well.

I thought they were going to do Hugo Strange? Though this should still be good, I thought a villain whom wants to kill Batman to replace him would have been more in Nolans investigation of the psychology of the human mind. Though maybe that would be too close to Darknight in the beginning where you had mentally ill patience dressing up as Batman with Scarecrow.
Nolan already has my money for this. I definitely mirror the "wtf heath ledger is joker?" comments, but Nolan has proven himself time and time again. Both batman films and the mind-fuck superb that is Inception have propped Nolan up high in my book.
Don't forget that Bane is an incredibly smart and cunning villain (in the comics) Bane in the Batman & Robin film was nothing like his comic counterpart at all (except the suit/venom)
Yeah I guess if you liked the Joker you'll probably be happy with what will probably come out of the The Dark Knight rises. Me personally, I wasnt initially skeptical when I heard they chose Ledger, as I thought he would have made a great anakin skywalker. His performance was about as good as Jack Nicholsons, there is just too much stupid ass hype surrounding his role as the joker. What was with the repeated licking of his lips...made me want to punch him.
So it looks like WB are getting their way and making Nolan make another typical summer comicbook movie instead of letting him serve up another masterpiece like Batman Begins, where the baddies actually felt like they could tangibly exist in this reality, unlike Ledgers Joker. Would love to have seen Phillip Seymour Hoffman take on the Penguin, or Tom Hardy as Hugo strange. Or Poison Ivy as more of a bioterrorist, sans the chlorofyl blood etc. Her first ever appearance in a comic book, she had spores that got into people and huge mushrooms started popping out of their every cavity and killing them, shit was awesome. Imagine that on a gotham sized scale.
Is there an official poster yet? I heard there is, but google images is producing too many fan made ones.
I'm none too sure about Hathaway. I mean sure Ledger was a little left field, but most of the skepticism comes from people who'd only seen his Hollywood pretty boy roles. Say what you will about Brokeback Mountain, that was a damn good performance. There were plenty of other impressive roles, in amongst some teenybopper rubbish, going right back to the rather brilliant Two Hands. The guy was a sound investment.
Hathaway I'm less sure about. There's not much on her resume that indicates some heretofore unseen acting prowess. Then again Catwoman probably isn't as taxing a role as the Dark Knight incarnation of the Joker.
Bane is an awesome character, when he isnt portrayed as mindless muscle that is - the novel about batman and bane is pretty gritty and a decent read to boot, if Nolan can squeeze the life out of that storyline and show how deep the psychological battle of ideals is between batman, azreal and bane then the movie could be awesome. I get the impression there is no azreal.
She's a good actress, I don't get all the hate. Norton's picks for his previous movies have always proved to be spot on, so I wouldn't worry too much about it
Because having a high percentile rating on a website is going to influence one man's personal opinion.
I personally enjoyed the Dark Knight, but repeated viewings have lowered my opinion of it.
also, too much joker quoting.
hahah the same reaction to the 1st joker pic, people getting all bitch blah blah blah. I love how everyone hates on something after it comes out and everyone loves it then suddenly it becomes over rated and cool to hate on. that and forming an opinion on movies when only scraps of info are available . im waiting until i am acutally watching the credits roll to love or condemn it.
after seeing tom hardy in bronson i think he will be awesome as bane.
yaaa, i reember when the first picture of the joker was released... everyone hated it.... then boom. greatest casting ever....
As for Hathaway.... If you like the side boob, check out the full boob in love and other drugs...
I personally like her as an actress, though, she was horrible at the oscars. Not entirely sure about her as catwoman though. doesnt really suit her style. but, we shall see!

Here's an article on 5 reasons why they're well made choices and it makes sense to me.

absolutely nothing.
Let the man work and continue to blow our minds away.
I look forward to where he goes with this.

Also Hathaway is a spastic moron.

Except her Acadamy Award / Golden Globe nomination.

Yeah, someone should have warned you about the end the first time you watched it, so you would have been surprised the second time around.
yuuuuuuuuuuuuuup I'm with you on that one. Apparently they've released a teaser poster for the new movie, anyone know which one it is?
'like'.
Can't very well film a movie with a corpse as an actor.
...yet.
Even more meh.
