Hazardous: i know it's all for fun butttt, that gun is way overboard for Shadowrun - it's pretty much near future tech as far as weapons - think Ghost in the Shell or Deus Ex

Agreed! Working on some more variants sketches now!
J: Thanks man!
andersh: buying that book made me instantly want to do a Shadowrun guy a long time ago - finally get to haha
Alright, just messing with the bodytype here. Nothing solid, just mushed around and hacked together to feel it out. Not entirely sure on the hunch - I want to give him so long dreads as a hairstyle, so it might be cool to have them running in that general path.
I've also got to hack off the left hand when the time comes and give him his hook augmentation. I'm thinking of giving him a rocket propelled (or some kind of techy gadget inner workings) grappling hook that'll shoot out of his arm and hook onto things. Think Mortal Kombat Scorpion meets Omega Red.
Again, just 3d sketch for now - hoping to get into blocking in gear and feeling out the character soon.
hazardous seems so chill, busting out amazing art!
Gav's guy proportions are really neat!
cant wait to see slipgate's stuff!
What i do wonder tho, is where the hell is spark? lol

Wow, ok did not expect this to blow up so soon! Although I should have expected it with talents such as Gav, Hazardous, and Slipgate:) I have been busy as of late so do have some ideas that I will be posting up this weekend ( with some sketches ) But here is a drawing I did a long time ago that I always liked, and thought I could update and pull it into the shadow run universe. As I like the thought of a gnome/old man and a golem/robot to seperate myself from monsters, and women since I know that is what Hazardous and possibly Slipgate is going to do. Awesome concepts so far Gav and Haz, really like the direction you guys are going.
Brett, I love you. I was going to post the South Park jizz pic again..but figured that's old hat. If you give this a Shadowrun tweak - it'll be so fucking rad.
Gav: Looks rad so far man. Tho I'm feeling like that bandolier will read as a bit busy/HF...
Maybe make the webbing thicker, and the bullets farther-apart/less frequent?
Also, I realize its the "in thing" what with TF2/ Incredibles/ every other fucking thing, to give the characters disproportionately small feet but, this makes him look a little twinkle-toes rather than stylistically cool, especially with those knee-pads.
makecg: Thanks man:)
Scoobs: Cheers. I spaced out the bullets, adding more of a belt underneath and emptied some of the slots both as a detail thing and to let your eye rest a bit. I think it works pretty well - good point Also made the feet a bit bigger and legs a bit longer (as well as the jacket) which i think helps quite a bit. Though, I must admit I haven't noticed any trend in tiny feet outside of TF2 and fan art - if anything it is me trying to reach elation in the snuggly bosom of the great Rob Liefeld.
A lot of things are still place holder (basically anything waist down, the face..still need to make the robo arm and the bird) but here's a quick update!
Gav, love the design but the extreme length of the coat is a big turnoff to me, specially when it makes that sharp fold around the feet. Looks like it would bring down his mobility quite a lot.

agreed, that and also if the cloak is any kind of fabric it wont spread out at the bottom like that. the fabric would have to be quite elastic to spread out like it.
realistically it would fold out more straight away to back like attached image. either this or you would have to add tons of folds on the top which later pans out on the bottom.
Shadowrun 1st edition was a breath of fresh air when it came out. It's great to see such fine talent come out and do it justice in 3D...good luck to you all.
AimBiz: Thanks man- and - good point. I think I may have gone a little over zealous with the coat and was going down a path of technical problems.
MM: Thanks man - totally makes sense to me.
ebagg: Well, maybe you should give it a try...you know?

Another quick update, trying a shorter jacket and still playing with the legs and feet - think it's getting there.
Edit> I fully intend to rip up the bottom of his jacket a bit but want to be settled on a length and shape before committing to that I'm also thinking on the big companion - might give him some gear as well, definitely some personality and not just "a bird."
Nice work Gav. I'm liking the shorter coat a lot more than the longer one esp after it gets ripped up. The vest seems Little out of place to me but I guess I'll have to wait to see what you do with it.
duh guys you're fast, nice progress
I gonna start sketching tonight and get done with concept and blockout by the end of Jan
WoW has eaten 2 weeks of my time dammit, but I'm pretty much fed up with it.
I dont really know why but I had a hankering for boots. So I blocked these in! Belts are going to be bling'd up. Adding a couple of hanging chains as well, still to come.

Just quickly blocked out some main parts!
the mouth area feels slightly odd(might because of the wireframe) but anyways keep on rocking dude !
My face just blowed off!

Edit> I can't speak for everyone but I am personally done with DW. So, my desire to do this is completely unaffected by the return of "the founder."
Also, Haz - awesome block in Slipgate & Spark - Don't tease me, bro.
I got some chest hair with these guys names on it, DW is not requred as a pre-requisite for chestbumping.
oh and awesome art too btw looking forward to seeing more (or in slipgates and sparks case - something)...
