Starting a new UDK project. I want it to be Dr. Seuss ruins. I've wanted to do something Dr. Seuss-ish for a while so here is my rough concept. I give myself a 3/10 for capturing the Seuss feel in the sketch but this is just a starting point for me. It's not really a concept of what I want the final image or lighting or anything to look like once in UDK other than the basic layout. I think it'll be fun and challenging to work on this after doing something realistic.
Loving the work here so far.
I_R: Awesome pistol dude. Agree on toning down the noise on the grip.
Devin Busha: Reeeally loving those colors on your machine. Would love to see it in 3D
Been poking at this since the start of the year. Been having problems with my bakes. Really want to improve my texturing skills for this one.
I have been working on this. According to friends it's an "awesome" replica of a certain game which I'll leave you to figure out yourself.
Unfortunately I have zero texturing skills. This is what happened when I tried texturing something!
According to my friends, once again, it Unwrapped well just the texture is? Dull? Doesn't look real. Any tips / hints on how to make it a bit more real?
So i'm new to Polycount and I'm not 100% sure if this is where I should post for a critique. I'm working on a few marble textures ATM in UDK and was looking for some help to make them better.
Currently I'm only using a diffuse and spec map. Any advice is greatly appreciated, Thanks
Execution is awesome, but I agree with gir, doesn't feel like Ken. To be honest at first glance I thought it was Dan cause the clothes look pinkish instead of the blood red which contrasts well with the vivid yellow of his hair. Your hair is bit pale but it's understandable since he's supposed to be older, but that is IMHO another reason to make his clothes more red, if not a bit more saturated as well. CHanging the pose could also help, maybe a shoryuken with some flames on his fist?
Chin from King of Fighters, had a blast! So much awesome talent here.
A little over a hundred years ago an old Drunken Fists Master named Chin Gentsai immigrated to America and finally met up and befriended another cranky old man named Chet who was headed off to California for the famous California Gold Rush of 1849. These two men decided to make this journey together in search of Wealth and plenty of Booz! The two old geezers became close friends, and as time went on Chet taught Chin how to mine for gold in the Golden State of California. In exchange for Chets schooling of gold mining Chin taught Chet everything he knew about the ancient fighting style of Drunken Fist. Now Chet and Chin are a almost unstoppable duo that Mine for Gold all day then go and get drunk until they can't even stand up straight.
jfletcher: good start but her chin is way too long and wide, also desaturating her chin makes it look like she has a five o'clock shadow. The nose look very flat because of the thin shadowline and maybe make the neck a bit less wide
Jfletcher: Looks quite masculine atm. Large chin. And the nose could use some loving. Nostrils should be visible. Although it does all depend on the type of face your going for.
~ Yo Fletch! Nice stuff. I think I'm with Raven on the width of the chin and the 5 oclock shadow. I also think subtle things like her small/far-apart eyes, wide mouth, wide neck and sloping shoulders are masculinizing her.
I'd define and raise her eyebrows away from her eyes a little, make her eyes bigger and more framed with the make-up you started and shape her nose a little too.
So, it would seem ive kinda fallen off the face of the earth in the last few weeks, but ive actually been working like crazy to help 3 groups of students finish their final year films off. Here are a small selection of the 9 scenes im working on for one particular group. This is really outta my comfort zone as I really really hate pre-rendered work, but duty calls and the job's gotta be done. Im pretty much finished with everything for university now so these are just the last couple of days before I leave.
I'm working on this missile launcher. It is loosely based on a redfaction2 concept. I did this project for quite a while now. To be honest it took me far too long. Anyway, I'm happy to start texturing and finally finishing this beast.

Concept of a girl's face I painted today:
Rather generic, but whatever, that was sort of the intention, Just wanted practice, getting a bit better at concepts now.
At least I got an ace holiday
@ JFletcher: I freaking love your colour work man. congrats on the new job too, that is great news.
@ obeyurnapster: Always love you style. Great character.
@JFletcher: Great job man, but I feel like her neck is really freaking long and thick. Feels warped when I look at it.
Here's what I did with my saturday.
left 4 dead ?!
Oh wow man, awesome work on this. Whats the engine you've got running your superb assets in?
Attempting to improve at painterly, stylized textures. My first attempt at grass after ~6 hours of fooling around.

Keep at it!

i like your painting style a lot btw
I also feel the face is to wide so making it narrower works quite well.
PS: I like your style. Hair looks great.
I'm new to polycount but I've been working on a 3D game environment and I would love any feedback/crits you might have to make things more realistic!
Rawrbot
There are definitely a few things I want to fix.
Anyway, here are the shots, hope you guys like them!
