I was originally calling this a crate, but I think I'm going with bomb now. It reminds me of a bomb in the Fifth Element. Started out as an autodestruct crate concept that I heavily modified for Eclipse, and now I've gone back to it and made it more my own.
Attempting to bring my hand painted textures up to par. On a related note, I recently reaffirmed my suspicion that the Sharpen filter can't turn shit into diamonds.
got a chance to UV an bake this bad girl down last night- 2nd mat/texture pass- maya viewport-blinn. Still some opimising and a few accessories to go- also need to get her chibi demon sidekick done.
did a book cover for "20.000 leagues under the sea" because the gutenberg.org Kindle cover sucks ass, and I wanted a proper one
It's nice!
My only crit is that in English, we use comma to denote breaking up numbers into thousands, and periods to make fractions. So in English, your title reads 20 leagues. Which means the Professor didn't travel far.
The correct title in English is Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea or 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Practising doing some texture maps tiled brick, diffusemap, normlmap, specularmap.

jocz, great detail and mad personality. You nailed it. Not like I'm from Arkham City or smth, but I had a quite similar looking kid going to school with me.) spooky
Hey, guys, I've been hard at work on my environment here and been looking to wrap it up as fast as possible. But before I do that I would greatly appreciate any more opinions, especially on lighting!
Hi,
This is my first post so I thought I'd start by showing off some stuff I'm working on for a group project at Uni. Our theme is a music based FPS and as one of the modellers I have been given the task of producing the weapons amongst other things.
As we are intending to get the this running in engine eventually we figured it would be best to go for as low poly as possible whilst still having enough detail to make it look half decent.
First off we have the Vinyl Launcher, an arm mounted weapon which will be used by the Electro class: Clay Renders
Maps Applied

It's still a work in progress at the minute so any pointers would be much appreciated.

That's a very cool idea, but it looks plain and uninspired from a design standpoint. Do you guys have any concept art to go by? Anything that you're pulling inspiration from?

Apologies for quoting again. Kickass work Mezz!! Makes me want to pick up that pen right now
This one based on the brilliant concept by Carlos Huante
It varies from the concept, but hey! Still WIP!
