Man I am looking forward to this. Elder Scrolls is by far the best game I have played to date. Looking forward to a giant world I can roam around in with the freedom to pick up the storyline when and if I want. Only being stuck in a chute when it makes sense, not too much predefined animation in the combat system (AC3 a great game but like walking through mud).
Not offering up my firstborn, but yeah, great news.
You tickle my nerd buttons! :P
You could only have upped it by saying "Oblivion 2:skyrim is going to be awesome!"

This:D
Anyway, looking forward to Skyrim a hell of lot. I played the crap out of Oblivion and absolutely loved it for its atmosphere, the music comes to mind in particular. Anyone have an idea when we can expect the magazine info to start leaking? ^_^
Ahah. I remember trying to play Arena and falling into a hole in the world and crashing the game.
Good times.
Maybe I should try it again.
Definitely, remember to create a lot of saves.
Also, daggerfall plays out way more like a rogue-like compared to the newer entries, so basically a bit of a diablo-style game combined with the sandbox of the newer elderscrolls games.
I think that the Elder Scrolls games need to have semi-random dungeons, if not completely random, rather than a bunch of caves that look exactly the same.

That would be a really nice addition. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to create a bunch of modular cave/dungeon sections that can connect together with a few unique ones for the quests located in that dungeon and have it randomly generate the layout and possibly the theme when the player enters the dungeon. The repeating dungeons was one thing that got really old in Oblivion, especially when you've played through it a few times.
Yeah I agree with you HonkeyPunch and Zipfinator. Do you guys know of any modern games that implement this? Only ones I remember are the one mentioned here and Diablo..

I think the issue was that the visual sets for the dungeons were a bit too similar.
Random dungeons That wouldn't help their bug-department a bit, they had a hard time testing a completely non random game, throw in random dungeons and it'll be daggerfall all over again :P
Geezus, were you at the Zenimax holiday party? I had the privilege of being a friend's date and had a blast. That company knows how to throw a shindig.

I was there. It was indeed a good party. You should have thrown me a pm, I would have had a shot or ten with you!
When you only get 11 months to market your game, you have to be pretty hot and heavy about it. I'd rather have 11 months of heavy hype than 3 years of steady bullshit.
I really want these GameInformer shots to magically appear on the net. Eeee, hurry!
So excited about this game. If this game improves on the Morrowind style of play rather than Oblivion, and has stunning, immersive environments, then this could easily be my favourite game of 2011.
I'm impressed. I also knew 4chan would be the ones to get it out.
Looks really nice and is that a wild horse? Perhaps you can tame them. The waterfalls in that picture look a bit plain from that distance but could be early days. Very cool. I'm looking forward to some footage now
Looks great! Can't wait to see proper screenshots now!
The character models look much better this time round. Much more realistic. Shots are a little too small to really comment any further. I want to know the scope of the world; how big is the play area? Will it be as free roaming as the other games? I hope so, and I guess I expect so too!

They would hardly do an elderscrolls game without the free roaming the series is known for.

I hope it was as good for you as it was for me.
Ohh man you missed soo much, the later games were 10x better than Daggerfall.
I hope this article comes out on the 6th because I cannot wait any longer :poly117:.
Well, they're a bit different, but still equally good,
The older elderscrolls games were always about having the game generate a random experience for you each time, much like a roguelike.
While the new ones are more about a handcrafted non-random experience.

Im for the idea though.
Depends. Shipped out this morning, I do believe.

Crap, I was also at the holiday party, suckin' back the Zenitini's at the ice bar! XD
Only problem with it was it went by so fast. Grats to all you guys down at Bethsoft on the GI cover.
This. C'mon already!!! :P
I heard you will be able to plant a seed, and later on in the game it'll have grown to a tree!!

I think there's more but this is all I could scavenge

Was going to post this, but was too busy fapping.
