A few things in this episode had me shouting at the TV :icon60:
Of course Glens' scene. I'm going to have to watch it again, but yeah. I'm agreeing with everyone here. that wasn't his end.
Ricks hand... o.O uh oh!
I didn't quite see what happened. Did he punch a zombie in the mouth, resulting in a cut?
& The lack of the mercy kill. What. the. hell
When buddy was pinned up against the fence.. getting eating alive. Michonne and whoever she was with just casually watches him scream then leaves...

His knife broke on the first walker, so he grabs a machete thats sticking out of another one and cuts his hand in the process. Everyone is freaking out about Rick losing his hand but I think it's just a red herring.
Wasn't sure about Glenn, legitimately thought he died until I heard they didn't put him into the 'In Memoriam" on The Talking Dead, which would be insane for a character that big. Conversely, just as insane that he survives 100 zombies in an alley.
I think Glenn gets though this actually. The loophole we've seen before (Michonne, Carol) but this is just a different twist. The other guy took himself out and they both fell to the ground, it looks like the other guy is probably laying on top of Glenn. As we have seen if you get covered in the blood of other things (like really covered) the zombies will ignore you straight up.
Glen going down was probably a trial run to see how fans will react. Much like Herschel loosing his leg, the writers said they originally intended that to be the end of the character but backed off because he was such a good actor and loved by fans.
It doesn't look good. If fans freak, they may get a few more episodes but he probably won't survive the season.
Glenn needs to die the same way he died in the comics... it was one of the most dramatic character deaths in the comic (imo) and had a much larger impact on the story then it even would have if he was simply eaten by zombies.

Yeah for sure. If they rob us of having that moment I'll be really annoyed at the show. Unless they kill Daryl instead, that would redeem it.

if he survives only to die that way soon after, people are gonna freak haha
I'm trying to remember, if there was a big moment, in the comics, where Rick missing his hand, was key to the plot. I say that, because I'm curious if they are going to have his hand severely injured, for a few episodes, to keep that plot point.

I remember seeing an interview of Kirkman saying how he regretted doing this decision in the comic cause it constrained him pretty bad from doing some other creative things in the writing down the line, if I find it I'll post it! But that being said, I don't think they'll be doing the same thing for the show.
I know. I've read that before too. That's why I don't think he'll 'lose' his hand, which is what I think others believe is happening. What I meant was, I feel like they are temporarily maiming it, for something. I was trying to recall if there was something that happened, in the comics, where the missing hand was important. A moment that they may be trying to recreate now, without completely removing his hand.
Great episode, and nice to finally get Morgan's missing time filled in. Some of his rants still don't make sense to me, and kept feeling like something they were hoping would turn into internet memes, but otherwise, loved it. RIP Tabitha
And this goes to show, even a slower paced episode, with very little Walker interaction, can still be very entertaining (I'm looking at you Fear the Walking Dead). Sure, there were walkers, but only as an activity, and not really a threat (other than the one that gets Eastman)
I thought it was alright. My main criticism was just the predictability after we learn the setup: Ok this guy is going to teach Morgan the ways of the force, then get killed later (in a lame way, as is the case with all "extra" characters ie Beth, Tyrese.) You can practically see the whole thing play out, which is one of the problems this show has. For instance we know next week's episode will be about Alexandria, and after that build up we'll almost certainly learn that Glenn survived.
Agreed. There was no sense of danger, for Morgan, that whole time, because we obviously know he survives. I also assumed Eastman doesn't make it, since he didn't arrive with Morgan... though they could have made it different, where they go separate ways, since Eastman kept talking about traveling to the coast. Morgan could have left, saying he wanted to find Rick.
The one thing I've noticed this season, that is kind of annoying me, is the way people are jumping in front of zombies, to knock someone out of the way, instead of just pushing the person. Eastman didn't have to get in front on Morgan, to push him away. It just looks awkward.
That part with Daryl was weird, the chick who has a medical condition just sits down with her parents(?) then gets bit by both of them. People sure are oblivious in this show, must be the lack of nutrition.
they're generally pretty good about realism, but they did botch the diabetic stuff a bit. If the girl was passing out, she was probably low - and giving her insulin (which was in the cooler that Daryl returned, then they injected her) would have killed her - or they injected her with glucose. She could have been super high, and had been consuming a shitload of carbs/sugar, but somehow i doubt that given the apocalypse situation. That group of people seemed out of place, and they talked about things like no time had passed since the zombie stuff started and that moment, when it seems on the show at least a year or more has gone by.
I had a hard time following the long speeches by Sasha and Super Ginger... dunno. Episode seemed like a long winded introduction to the new group and potential conflict starter.
I missed that part too *Parents, or possibly people she took care of when they were younger?
Stranger still.. Even with them(*) being entombed in melted glass, the insulin girl was still vulnerable to a bite. However, if it's a panel of glass between a zombie & Abraham / Sasha .. they're safe

Of course! The melted glass was just regular old crappy glass. It wasn't Plot Armor™ brand laminate.

I'm too lazy so just imagine I'm posting a gif of Ripley frantically trying to smash the lab window in Aliens. It's not too far of a stretch to imagine heat great enough to melt the panes out of a greenhouse would weaken them, not to mention the greenhouse could just have cheap plate glass or plastic.
I've heard people say that they heard a girls voice call out at the very end of that episode with Glenn, and they were speculating it to be the young girl who ran away... her name escapes me (Carl's crush). Anyways I'm thinking she offered up a distraction while Glenn hid under the other guys body. Which would be a better sell then going under the dumpster (unless it turns out to be a unique and raised dumpster) but even then, that scenario doesn't earn a 2 or 3 episode build up to finding out what happened.
haha oh jeez I was expecting that radio call for help to be Glen- Then, in comes Abraham! With his newly found toy. but yeah...an empty plastic bottle rolling across the alley. Luring the walkers away. *Two thumbs up*

I am curious about this too. I suppose we will have to wait and see. :poly122:

but I agree with the others, he isn't dead - he is just being used as a plate and the other dude is the main dish
