This is where I was thinking I would head with the squeegee I have dubbed The Squeeg. Basically my idea was to shorten the overall rubber blade length so it was more stocky and weapon like and incorporate some broken window shards of glass into the other end of it
This is the post with the modified Squeegee in case you missed it.
So I have most of my melee weapon done but I am having errors compiling. I used the original weapon_bone from the fireaxe but whenever I try to compile the .qc I keep getting an error..
ERROR: cannot find bone weapon_bone for bbox
ERROR: Aborted Processing on 'weapons\w_models\w_powerjack.mdl'
Nevermind... Fixed the problem. Had something to do with the UV's. Here's my new melee weapon The Powerjack, a vintage gear crank automobile jack. It's basically done except I will probably add the turn lever/gear on the front.
It's good.
But how will you make it the Pyro's weapon and not just a jack?
I'm thinking, entirely team coloured like the flaregun? except for the screwing mechanism.
I actually like that idea. Maybe I will play around with it.
Glad I could help. The Powerjack actually looks pretty sweet and seems to work. Maybe one of the top ends should be bent (that reference I posted seems to have bent ends, so even though it'd be tough metal, why not).
You know what would be really awesome... if you added a gear and lever and when you taunted and the pyro does the final strum on the "guitar" the lever could rotate around from it. No?
It's good.

Team colored with a dark metal mechanism would be good. The dark colors do set it apart pretty strongly from most any other melee weapon thusfar though, which I like, but I dunno could we maybe see both?
Cool, could you make a new taunt for at least one of your weapons?
I know it's unneccesary, but I've always been sort of saddened by the fact that most other classes have new a taunt for their weapons while Pyro only have his 3 default ones
Awesome! I was going to suggest maybe doing some sort of mace some day but it looks like you've already got it figured out. Can't wait to see this textured and the flamethrower modeled.
I liked it better before the car battery. It was a lot more evil and painful looking. Now it just looks kind of like a generic hammer. The silhouette now is more blocky and doesn't read as a car jack.

Ah true.
The rough edge on the car jack looked a bit more vicious :O
It didn't look TF2-esque to me without something added to it that was just over the top.. granted the edge would hurt... getting hit with the weight of a car battery and iron is way worse... not to mention the edge is still there bent up to pop you in the head :P
Awesome hammer. It would weigh a ton!!!...well bout the weight of a car battery strapped to some metal. Still it would weigh alot! Car batteries seem to weigh more than they ought to imo...so swinging it about would be quite difficult. Still a great idea though.
Have you thought about the possibility that the terminals on top could be used to electrocute players? Like a giant taser.

I'd be more worried about the sulfuric acid inside!
I dunno, those gears really make me think it's gonna bend in half on impact, but at the same time, this thing is just so badass. who needs a chainsaw on a gun when you've got a car battery!

damn.
well thats just because I didn't show the other side... the base is solid. The gears are only there to spin the crankshaft in the middle to lift the car.
Progg, you continue to abysmally fail at disappointing me. If that previous phrase didn't confuse the hell out of you, I'm obviously not trying hard enough.
I want your pack to be one of, if not the winner, in my heart of hearts. I don't care what kind of mechanics Valve adds to the Powerjack, if they do add mechanics, though previous history leans strongly towards the former. I would use that sucker nomatter what.
And this is coming from a person who uses the Homewrecker purely for the +100% Badass bonus of it being a Sledgehammer.
And I love how, (though it would seem somewhat inadvertently) you've stuck to Team Fortress's goofy weapons logic: "If it's not awesome enough, tape a car battery to it."
As brutal as cracking someone's skull with a jack already is, the addition of the car battery is just what it needed to bring it to the team fortress level of comic book MacGyver ridiculousness.

am i to understand you are going to poot dispenser here?

No not a dispenser a coin dispenser attachment attendants use to use back in the old school gas stations to give people change.
I sorta got that with the Heavy's "ppppooottt Dispenser here!" lol
XD think with your dipstick laddy!
It could really bring some energy into it.
However with the pyro he'd be swinging a dipstick like an axe ._.
or part of one.

Anyone have any ideas?

?
For me it's the latter.
bingo. the latter.. it's one thing to be sliced but another to be pretty much mashed with something not intended for killing

Please, please, please make the handle spin around on the final strum of the taunt animation.
Also, maybe another bit of tape(?) at the business end of the battery.

and alot more tf2-esque

That could be its selling point, more likely to kill retreating players when coupled with afterburn.
Gameplay isn't this forums domain, though, so oh well.
That was my original intention... but it's already so busy that adding some wires and alligator clamps to it would be too much.
damn.

Way to kick it up a notch. BAM!
